Lookin' great! Where do you get that el wire? If I have time/money I wanna add it to mine.
Found the EL wire on Amazon for a reasonable price and like I said before, its really easy to work with, so it would take no time to add it on.

frosted glass spray works great. another avenue is wax paper. I've used wax paper to diffuse LEDs and flash bulbs before. And I'm currently using the frosted glass spray with an art project for school. I'm glad I saw this thread too I'm definitely going to try that EL wire. Thanks.
Great job so far, I really like the work your putting in
Also, thanks for the foamtiles.com shout out. I saw the box in the background and was really tired of buying this stuff from the local hardware store so I checked out the website. To my pleasant surprise I found they send you three free samples of the product; very cool!
Looks awesome so far! I had the same problem with the collar, only opposite yours. My chest piece was fine, but the collar was short. Win some, learn some, right?
Looking great so far. Did you have any issues with the forearms at all? I noticed everyone uses a symmetrical pattern but every cut and adjustment I've made puts that square opening on the wrong side of my forearm. Not to mention that there should be a difference in length for the top of the pattern compared to the bottom (with wrist/forearm circum. differences). Feels like I'm missing something fundamental.
It has been a week or so since I've logged in and you have been busy. Looks like you are on track to meet your deadline. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your awesome suit at the launch! Keep up the good work!
As for dremels, I just use a Black and Decker one that I found on sale for $10. It is bulkier than an actual dremel brand tool and the bits are lower quality, but it was only $10. My plan is to use that one until I find a great sale on a better tool and keep my Black and Decker for a back-up. My advice would be to get the cheapest one you can find and wait to get a good sale on a Dremel brand, or maybe a Dewalt. Or borrow your friend's until you find a good sale. Whatever works.
The back is looking awesome, nice cable management of that glow wire and sweet spinal pattern.
I really wish I could of built something cool for Mass Effect 3 launch. It's a bit too late for me. Good luck dude! Looks really good
Great stuff, foam seems easy to work with when you have templeates
So the heating and forming doesn't mess with the texture on the surface of the foam? That is the one thing I've been worried about for starting a foam build, but haven't really thought to ask until now, when I saw your thread!
I hope your storm doesn't cause the same kind of trouble the the author of BioWeapons blog ran into when he was building his foam N7 armour. Poor guy found a tree in his bedroom. Speaking of him, have you read through his write up of his N7 armour build? Link is here if you want. It was a fun read.
You progress is looking good, I have only one thing to say "Reapers look out!!!"
