Hello all!
This is my first time greeting you all not as just a regular ol’ member, but as a member of staff here at the 405th. That’s right! Your good pal N8TEBB has been elected as the RCO of the Canadian Regiment!
Thank you to all Canadian halo cosplayers for allowing me to serve you in this way. It is an honour to lead you. I am committed to serving you with dedication and a genuine desire to make the 405th everything we’ve dreamed of. It’s my goal to make Canadian Halo cosplayers feel right at home here in the Canadian Regiment.
I know things may feel a bit different around here. Some of you may feel that the Canadian Regiment is empty. I don’t think so. It certainly is a lot quieter than other regiments at the moment, but I hope to encourage a more active forum presence in Canada over this coming year. The 405th is a community after all, it’s our goal to encourage people to join and stay for a long time!
Something that’s special about the 405th is its world-wide presence. This means that in order to build a presence of Canadian cosplayers we do not have to start from nothing. The 405th has a well-established wealth of resources to encourage Canadians to get a-craftin’. We have many active members all over the world to build community with. We’re not starting from nothing, rather expanding an already massive community! It’s my hope that this world-wide community can help us to introduce Canadian folks to Halo Cosplay and allow them to have the joy I have found in being a part of this community.
I can’t do this by myself though. Some of you have heard me talk about this before; a leader is not the community in the same way a coach is not a team. Here’s what I mean: a coach wouldn’t play a game all by himself. If he did, he would very quickly become tired worn out because there is no one supporting him. Instead, a good coach will be watching from the side and directing the team as they play. In the same way, I can’t do everything the Canadian regiment can do. If just I tried to set up a booth at every con, I would use up all my time, money, and energy. Instead, what I believe is best, is for me to help all of you wonderful people by facilitating your Canadian events, get togethers, game nights, and more. I’ll work with you all by giving guidance and support, and when we have a team of people that are ready, we’ll get out there.
Thank you all for reading this, believing in me, and being willing to help expand the 405th in Canada. I can't wait to see all the amazing things we're going to do this year!
