Jr is all set for Halloween. His mom put a lot of effort into making this, learning lots of new skills including work with eva for the first time. View attachment 261793
Who knew this mom was so great at making costumes already? Here is Jr with his two brothers. All homemade costumes by mom. Cayde-6, Quidditch player, Samwise Gamgee.
Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! I tried to kill Jason, but was unsuccessful.
Let's hope this works because I don't have a lot of time left.
For my visor I fiberglassed the pep and cut it out afterwards. That gave me the shape and I was able to bondo it smooth and dremel out the detail. Then used that to vacuum form plastic. Took a lot of time.
Here I'm hoping to make the buck solely out of clay.
First I printed out the template on cardstock, cut and taped it together. Then I rolled out some clay with a rolling pin like dough. I wrapped the cardstock in clay and set it in the helmet. I pushed the foam edges into the clay to help mark where the visor will be visible.
Now I'm just going to let it set in there to dry/harden. Hopefully I will then have the base shape I can work with by adding more clay on top to get the smooth and correct look I'd like.
I'll upload video once I have a chance to edit it.
Wow, what a day. Our lucky little kid was really reserved in the beginning, but once reality started setting in you could tell he was over the moon!
Thanks to Huntress217 our booth is now complete with an official 405th flag!
Since we were making this suit, his mom knew that she had to up her costume game to keep the other siblings happy. The oldest came out with a great Cayde-6 and won the costume contest!
He was not a fan of wearing the helmet. He wanted to because of the go pro (which they did bring), but he wouldn't wear it for longer than 30 seconds before asking to take it off. It was a little small, barely fit him and he complained about it making his breath hot.
