Oh heck yes. Do like. Do much like. Now I just have to hope I can get that sort of tint and plastic locally...

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the thickness issue. DO NOT get .005 thickness unless you want a super flimsy/paper thin visor. I just got the roll I ordered and it seems way to thin for decent visor. I'm still gonna use it just for appearances right now but I'm gonna have to pretty much scrap the whole roll I just ordered for something thicker. Hope this helps someone save some cash.

Edit: Just wanted to update that I was able to use the .005 thick acetate to make my visor. I found that if you try to score it, it will break everytime. So instead of scoring it you just take your ruler, line up the dots and make a fold as if you were folding regular paper. Granted it still is not the sturdiest visor but it WILL work. Again I hope this will help someone and save them some of the frustration I have had today. Lol. Enjoy your holidays! :)

can't i do without using the VHT NITE-SHADES

One person used those sun visors people seem to wear, you know the kind that are kinda caps until you pull it down on your face. He bought 2 and just put them together into an ODST visor. But I don't know how much they cost or where to find them, probably $7.

If you can't find VHT Night shades in your area, Krylon makes a spray paint for tail lights as well. Thats what I used, I bought it at my local autozone. It is gold however because it cost 12 for can. Just wanted to let everyone know that more than one company makes the stuff. Cheers.

thanks alot i was wondering how to make a visor for my helmet. Anther cool thing is you used the same exact file as my ODST helmet. THANKS!!!

Thank you soooo much even though its a long way away before i get to this part this was one of my biggest worries not getting the visor right or making it look crapy lol but yours Looks Freaking sweet!!

10/10 my friend. this is what im gong to do, and i think that that looks better than a vac form. its more crisp.

hey Zakuace im a little confused with the VHT Nightshade spray paint.. i went to ARTSUPPLYWAREHOUSE.COM and i typed in VHT Nightshade, as well as spray paint and they come out with a bunch of different cans and i read through some and it says matte doesnt that mean like it'll be opaqued or something? and which one do you think i could use?

and by the way awsome post ive been looking through the whole site n u save me a whole lot of ttime thanks

Wow, I didn't think this thing was still alive. Anyway. I am glad it has helped a lot of you.

Ironfrank,
I found VHT Nightshades at an auto supply store. Like Autozone, or Advanced Auto Parts. (I think people have found it in the auto section at Walmart as well.) Here is a link to it on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/VHT-Shades-Cover-Black-Coating/dp/B00290CBGA

There maybe some other "tinit" sprays at the auto stores, but I can't speak to how well they work.

For anyone who is having problems getting this to work. Be sure you are following the tutorial, but you can PM me with questions.

thanx alot for the help man ill head out to my walmart soon...

and you were probably asked this question before butdo they come in other colors?

Get the VHT nightshades... it is a tail light tinting spray paint. Its in auto parts stores. Never seen it in a walmart or anywhere else. I know OReillys has it.. but youll have to look hard most likely, Ive never seen more than 2 cans of it in a store at once and they were kind of pushed back and off to the side from the rest of the spray paint each time.

thanks man.. woulnt it make it opaque though?
sorry for the late post i had school today :-/

I can't speak for the multi colored stuff I never used it because the niteshades worked and looked pretty good.

The guy who suggested the colored stuff said it works, but can't say first hand.

Found something else that gets a similiar thickness to the visor...and almost the same kinda material...go to staples and buy their clear table covers...its a little on the thin side...but still very much workable....
Just applied the Nite Shades stuff to see how well it holds...but its looking very promising on my test strip...(worst comes to worse I just double up the material or something :p)
