Instead of creating a thread months ago and slowly updating it with progress, I decided to wait till we were at this stage of completion, and then upload progress shots and completion shots.

This project began back in June 2010. Design and construction by myself and Peter (another member of the Snowburner Marine squad). This RL will be Peter's, as he supplied most of the funds, but the work was split nearly 50/50. Peter did the final detailing/stenciling. Final paint was done in 4 layers, with masking redone removed and redone each time.

There is just a small section left to add on to the back end.

The first public appearance of this was at the Halo: Reach midnight release, though our first photoshoot was a couple weeks prior to that. We got some sweet sunset photos.

I won't post all the pictures, but more can be seen here at our homepage:

Great start. Did you use PVC tubes for the barrels? Doesn't look like the barrels will rotate, that's too bad. Looking good

Ahhhh..........you posted before I finished adding pictures!

Yes, the barrels are PVC tubes. Peter is on a tight budget, so we did not make the barrels 'active'. We are working on plans for potato canon add-on modules though.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Wow, and high praise from 'the man' LeeKegan himself; I'm very honoured!! I will pass these on to Peter, too.

This thing is a beast to haul around, especially in armour! It is a GREAT addition to our squad alongside my sniper rifle.

Holy crepes! It's amazing! If you plan on putting in a spud gun ability would it be spray and barbeque starter or compressed air? Because it would be even harder to hold with compressed air.

Just the basic spray and starter. None of us have the tools for a compressed air version.

Wow! that's great, I really like the detail on the middle part, nice colors too. I was just wondering though, if you plan to make a potato gun mod, won't you need a smaller pvc tube? I've heard you have to make sure the potato is a tight fit

Yes, pass it on. I think it looks better than Ithica's. His looks good, but yours looks better.

The potato canon section will be completely separate and removable. I don't want to damage the main launcher itself, other than a couple mounting crews to hold the PC inside the RL tubes.

Sorry, jumped the gun a bit (metamorphically speaking) This look great! And it really does look better than Ithica's

Wow! Thanks guys!

Hopefully within 24 hours of this post, Peter and I can FINALLY call this project 100% done, with final bits added and final touches of weathering, including on the warning marker at the back. If we get it done, I'll post new pics here.

That looks really good.
Rocket launchers are incredibly heavy, but most of the weight comes from the pvc barrels. You may want to look into getting pvc with a much thinner wall, than regular 4 inch pvc, or you could go with aluminum or carbon fiber if you want to get more expensive.

True........and possibly, but thin-walled tubes on a rocket launcher wouldn't look right.
