I don't see a mention of a router there at all Lee. Does this mean that you marked all the fluting (grooves) on the barrel with your hobby knife and then chiseled out the grooves?

Actually I cut very thin strips of wood and glued them to the barrel and then sanded them smooth.

Thanks for all the complements.

Sorry to double post but I have some updates.

Got me a nice cut all the way through from finger tip to half way back under the nail.
What sucks is I probably need stitches but I don't have insurance.

i remember getting stitches you should probably see a doctor and just pay the money you dont want it getting infected or not healing properly but on a happier note the sniper is coming along beautifully but how heavy is it

Who cares looking like that you will have a volnteer sqad to carry it lol. That is a fine piece of hardware my friend. And on the finger Durabond all the way baby that or a catgut suture kit from the vet supply, and a bottle of specs finest done both, both sux big lol.

Cheers!

Not very heavy! It is hollow on the inside.

Thanks Privateer, I have actually stitched myself up before with regular needle and thread, but I have diabeties and it takes a little longer to heal now.

Agh, those cuts really suck. Don't ask me how I know.... I've been doing wood work for a loooong time myself

I'm jealous of the super-high grade awesome that you're showing us. :not worthy:

Good lord man, did you wrestle a bear before you did this too?

(fantastic work, btw, can't wait to see how you tackle the scope. Just had to make a note of someone who has actually sewn their own flesh back together)

lol when given the choices of bleeding like a stuck pig or getting a infection  the option of stitching up a finger starts to look better and better.

Actually I made butterflies out of bandaids.  It doesn't look to bad!  This pic doesn't show the side where it goes under the nail.  This what happens when your not paying attention where you are cutting and slip!

Alright... I do understand how excited you are to be working on this build, and want to get it done as quickly as possible, but please... it's nothing worth losing a finger over it, okay?

If you're not going to the hospital to have that looked at, then I hope you've done a good enough patch-up on yourself that there's no worry about possible infection. You don't want/need any sort of complications with that, buddy.

Not trying to sound like a nagging mother or anything, I just want you to be alright (everyone here does).

As for the SR, well... I think I'm actually starting to run out of words to describe just how awesome it is and what an amazing job you've done on it, lol.

Like DerKraken said, I can't wait to see how you do the scope ;)

Don't worry. I'm taking care of the finger and I appreciate everyone's worry. After it hapened I just wanted to show everyone that no matter how careful we are an accident can happen. So just be very careful when were working on our projects.

The scope will be the last thing I do on thr SR. Not because it will be hard but I want to give it the attention it deserves.

All right it is time for some updates.

The grip and trigger is done.

Now I want to show how the two halves hook together.
There is two points that use lock pins and one removeable pin to lock the halves together.

Here is a pic of the bolt open and the view down to were the magazine will be.

XD barrel looks a bit heavy, it's bending down a little. Maybe add an interior support?

Are you talking about the shaft below the barrel?

If so, in the pics so far it is not glued in yet.
