Halo Marine helmet

As Ive got a UNSC Meerkat to zip about on. I need a "casual' cosplay for fun.

I picked up a rather simple bike helm from goodwill to mod in to a Marine inspired lid.

The Wrap keeps the foam in check as it cures .

Its funny as there are allreaddy vent plugs in the holes from the inside that are held in by velcro.
they extend up 3/4 of the way.

So far On track. I need to get the brim filled and let the paint dryyyy.

That bed liner gives a really dinged up look .

Ive got a idea use a mini LCD screen and a plastic semi mirror to make a real HMD
Ill pop on over to sparkfun to find one. Who knows . we can add a shot counter and a compass ect .

compass any one? In a pinch I could use a smart watch as a display but I dont think they have the lumens to pump light that far . ANd I dont wanna blow 300 USD on a prop * yet *

Neat idea for the HUD, I might have to try something like that for my marine helmet. For the chinstrap maybe buy an ACH or similar military chin strap just to give it more of that military helmet look.

The Housing is only for that one Sony cam..... If you just wanna faux Cam pod that I can do too.


As for the batt .. its just a bog standard Phone recharge brick.
