You're right about that. Funny you should mention it though, I had an idea lastnight about that. You could use expanding foam? Fill those spikes in with it and then trim the excess, and fibre glass over it to get a smooth interior rather than a hollow pit where the spikes are? It's make wearing it more comfortable too I'd imagine.

Oh yeah Skip, I would love to see how you gonna get this one going!!! Well I know you are working on your EOD so hopefully when you have time you can get this bad boy going. Also I would love to see some WIP as you go along. It should look great as the Fett guantlets you did for me!

Keep up the good work

Thanks very much buddy. :) I appreciate the vote of confidence too.

Actually this EOD build is second on my priority list. The 'Busa helmet comes first, I'm just waiting on the plans that Ruze has agreed to draw up for me and I'll get right on it. With the plans I can just point model straight over the plan views and hopefully have an (dare I say it?) easy time of modelling it. Time will tell.

I'm really glad you liked those Gauntlets, I've been over at TDH posting about my Royal Guard helmet and I've been keeping my eyes peeled for pics of your build. ;) I was gonna PM you actually about that "other" thing we mentioned. ;)

Thanks for looking on on this buddy.

EDIT: I've just thought of a possible problem with my expanding foam idea. I know styrofoam melts when covered with certain products, such as spray paint, Isopon P40(british equivelent of Bondo) and I think resin. I'm wondering if the same will happen to expanding foam?

I'll have to look into this.

Yup, the katana is just added on to the back of the regular hayabusa chestplate. I don't remember how many skulls or whatever you have to find to unlock it, but it is a non-functional addition. I think it wouldn't have been cool if there was an option to use that katana in the game but sadly no dice....

Two things, 1. you need to get 1000 gamescore to unlock it, :cautious: and 2. it's magnetised to the back like regular weapons. Might be worth looking into, coz it'd look awesome.

Imagine how trickier it's going to be for the Hayabusa helmet. Getting the fiberglass inside those spikes is going to be a nightmare.

That gave me a good laugh for some reason.

I love the chest. It looks so amazing. Great attention to detail, thar.

Nice work! You'll still have to try and model the turret. That would be awesome! I would do it I'm just really busy with bumblebee. :D

Thanks, I'm doing the helmet first. Just waiting on some plans. ;)

question!!!

what chest model did you use to make the busa chest?

and

does it work on all chest models?

It's only been built once to my knowledge. Smilie120 was the man for that. He used the existing chest supplied in the Busa pep file. Though I didn't unfold that part so some pep work is required there.

To ensure the best fit, I'd use the chest supplied, though if you wanna use a HD chest it'd be good to see how it fits.

Your choice my friend.

Great news!! I now have plans to model the Busa Helmet from!! Ruze did an amazing job on them! I can't say how pleased I am this morning! :D

Work will start on my version of the 'Busa soon, I just need to make some headway on some other jobs first. ;) For a sneak peak at the work Ruze did, visit my blog: http://skipspepakuracostumes.blogspot.com/

I'll post updates as I have them.

Thanks very much Wet'. ;)

He did a fantastic job didn't he. I did start to model this about a month ago using the pics in the gallery and from the Wiki. The problem was some of the perspective distortion in them was so great that it made modelling pretty tough in places. So I got i touch with Ruze and asked if he'd be interested in helping me out.

Fortunately he agreed and now I can model it straight from his drawings. I don't have to compete with the nasty perspective issues now because Ruze did all that for me. :D

I probably would have just let Spartan051 carry on with his and abandon mine if it weren't for Ruze.

Thats the trouble Im having right now even with my pics and they are almost perfectly straight on shots.

But wow, those are some great drawings.

They are. Well worth the wait. I've made a smal start on mine now, and I can say the difference working from these compared to the screen shots are huge!

I'm finding it difficult to pull myself away from working on it now. :D

Thank you. :) And I'm sure Ruze appreciates the compliments too. He certainly deserves them for his work.

I've started modelling it, been hard not to really. LOL! I'm making progress too, I'm unsure about some of the areas I've done but it is early days.

A pic so far:
