Looking really good, yes the resin comes out of the lid you just give it a twist and it pops out. Then you can re use the lid. Like Spartain_127 said it's up to you but at least 2 coats is a good idea, I do 3 myself and then sand after it's hardened. That allows me to use the resin to find the low spots and saves bondo, any low spots will stay shinny and the high spots will go dull. As for the cats hair bondo...if you use regular rondo for a first coat and the cats hair in hte second coat of rondo you wont get the fiberglass fibers sticking out when you sand. That may be a little over kill but if your going to be ruff with the helm it's a good idea to add the extra strength, rondo alone is to brital. I dropped my recon helm which was rondoed down a flight of stairs when I moved and nearly broke the entire front of the face off the helm. I was mad but I learned my lesson rondo alone is not strong enough.

Everything is looking really good. Helmet is turning out great. I know I'm a little late on this, but figured I'd put my two cents in on it. :p

On your coats for the outside. . . It's a matter of personal preference, but I would recommend at least 2-3 light coats. I recommend light coats so you don't have puddling and a lot of bubble issues that you may get when working with thick coats. After that your helmet should be pretty hard and able to hold it's own without supports. Just take your time on the inside with whatever you decide to use and work in small sections to avoid warping issues. I sent you a PM about your smooth cast questions that has a little more info about the inside part of your helmet.

Keep up the good work, Drew.

Thanks for the tips guys! I like the idea of sanding before bondo to find low spots, I'm all about making less work for myself lol

I think before I remove the supports I might slush a little rondo in the inside of the helmet to ensure the shape. I might be overestimating the possible warpage and could just be paranoid, but I'd rather not find out the hard way lol

Anyway, thanks for the input! I really appreciate it!

Drew

Bonus pics! Here's the mark vi alongside some side projects hehehe
