Help with belt

I have been struggling to figure out how to make this a wearable belt. I was just going to do a strap with buckles to secure it, but im debating using elastic strap instead. The pieces are a little bit small so there will probably be small gaps in between the parts when going around but that doesnt bother me and will honestly help with mobility.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

2" elastic (maybe double it over) then buckles would be comfortable. Just don't expect to use it like a stronger belt to hang your thigh armor from.

Are you saying to use two strands of elastic on top of each other and then buckle it? And should i just use e6000 to glue the pieces onto the belt?

I am also building a harness for the thighs and bicep armor.

If it were me:
I'd double over the elastic (just fold it) and put buckles on each end.
I'd probably attach something to the back of each belt part as a belt loop. Maybe screw down a segment of wide zip tie or webbing top and bottom. That way I can pass the belt through the loop.
If it turns out I hate the implementation its easy to take apart and do something else without loss of the elastic or big labor on getting glued parts off it.

I have a few pics of the belt I made here:

I used straps/buckles like you mentioned.
They are hot glued on and it has held up to this point!
