i screwed up on my mk4 armor... oopse
so i've pep'd the halo 2 ODST armor and ready to resin. i was just wondering how it needs to be cut to wear.
so can anyone link pics of a finished chest and how its cut and what you have to do to get your head through it.

ive tried searching the forum, but there are just so many threads on here, its hard to find anything relevant.

much appreciated Grave

Well, when I looked throughout the forum in Elite Showcase I saw a really good example of ODST armor.
Here's the link: http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14002

Maybe there is a Halo 2 ODST guide somewhere in the forums. I'll try to help you find one since I've been a huge ODST fan too haha. XD

There are some reference pictures out there, but I think they are of the Halo 3 version. It shows a split in the side of the neck, indicating that the torso is actually in 2 pieces.

this?

this is the H3 rendition of the ODST

well, so far thats what ive found is all H3 ODST sets.. i guess this will be the challenge for me

You could split it from under your arms to the bottom of the armor (around the waist) then put straps on inside. that way its easy to get on and off. IF you do that I would wait until after reisening

@ s1l3nt v1p3r: theres nothing wrong with tape. it worked great on the mk4 that i already fiber glassed. and it took a lot less time then messing around with glue.

@ azzarth: yes i will be cutting under the arms a long the waist. but i am more concerned about the neck. the odst armor has less room there then any of the other sets out there.

ummmm, i've seen that figure before. it's a custom someone built off a spartan figure. I kind of doubt anyone is going to make pep files off of a non cannon figurine.

you could always try and sculpt one if you want it that much.

ok, so it looks like you just left the neck open and didnt put that cone thing back in.
so where did you get the stuff for the backpack? your own design or from something else?
lastly can you show me a pic of the padding layout and visor for your helm?

once the friggen snow is gone... again... im gonna get back to work on this stuff.
oh and another ink cartridge...

to pad it, I sprayed Great Stuff foam into the helm, and then carved it out to fit my head. The visor is held in with machine screws that screw into some tee-nuts that are stuck in place with epoxy putty. The detailing on the back was all done from scratch.

COOL!
well, ive started my first coats on the helmet and also the interior of the body.
if this turns out well, i think ill make the H3 next.

WTF! i dont get it.
i started with the resin today, the body is going fine, but the helmet fell apart.
this is the 3rd thing that ive done and the first to fall apart. the paper ripped and peeled.
is there something i should have done before applying resin to it?
