WELL! its finally warm enough up here in Canada to start working again.
so ive started fiberglassing my chest and decided to try a new media.
if any of you know gardening, they have black matting for your gardens.
it comes on 25 ft rolls for $12 cnd. this stuff sticks nicely and soaks up the resin
better then the normal matting. since it is thin and lighter then fiber matteing,
i will have to do some extra layers, but so far it is working great. and looks
a bit like carbon fiber.

possibly some pic's soon. hope everyone is enjoying the great weather and making a bunch of stuff

Did you use tape? YES! You shouldn't use tape. Resin doesn't work well with tape, theres something to do with the sticky side of the tape that souta counter-acts with the resin.

Other than that, looking good so-far.

CHEERS!

havent had a single problem with tape. works great!
its the paper, its soaking up too much resin and collapsing.
but thats not a problem anymore.

tape kicks ass!

Mabey its the painters tape that works OK than... It has a weaker bond that masking tape. Mabey that is the reason behind the "death" of your Mk.4 armour.

CHEERS!

oh no, that was a crappy job at doing the resin and missed a couple key places. and dont care to fix it.
what really died was the odst helmet, that colapsed and looked like a pile of melted records when i went back to check on it

Mabey the story behind this helmet was lack of patients. 4 hours to pep 2 armour parts is a little TOO fast.
