Hot glue vs school glue

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this (probably). I have found that hot glue can be messy with the little strings that you get when it cools. Plain old Elmer's glue has worked wonders on my projects. Just dip a toothpick in the glue to apply a very small amount to the tabs. It cures quickly and holds great.

I would rather use my trusty hot glue gun. The strings aren't a big deal to me, just when there's a lot on my arm and then it gets annoying. School glue didn't work for me in the past working on a project, it kept shifting and took awhile to dry fully. Plus I can get 125 glue sticks for my gun for five dollars.

Elmer's white glue. I take an old plastic lid and pour a bit out to let it tack up a bit. That way, the dry/cure time is cut way down, but you still have some work time, and the mess is minimal. When I'm finished with the glue I poured out, I can either put the lid back on its container to keep it usable, or let it dry, peel it off and have a clean surface for more glue later on.

I just ue super glue, mostly the gel because you get more time to work with it.
I agree. Gel super glue is really good, trusty, and precise. Hot glue is good from what I heard, but I don't have any experience with it. As for school glue, it's pretty bad. I always hated using it.

Ive found that the best working glue is Quick Dry Tacky Glue. Just add a bit and pinch it for a few seconds. It holds very strong once cured (much stronger than elmers) and still can be repositioned when half cured. Clean-up is also easy, just rub your fingers together and the rubber just peels off. I would take tacky glue over hot or elmers glue anyday.

I usually use a super glue called cyanoacrylate for use of heavy paper on modeling projects. Drying time varie son type of glue bought but BE FOREWARNED! Once dried, it's permanent.

i like using the elmers glue also. its held all my peps together pretty good. but instead of toothpicks i cut my left over cardstock into little strips and use them to apply a thin layer of glue to each tab like a paintbrush. the elmers glue dries pretty quick just hold the tab down a few seconds and its dry. also i like to use the eraser end of a new pencil to hold down tabs that are in a area where my finger cant reach
