Hunter Costume

Ive decided too break off from the usual Spartan/Elite builds and try too make a Hunter.
This will be fit to a roughly 6ft person(me). And before you ask, YES THIS WILL HAVE AN OPERATIONAL ARM GUN! :)
Ive started sum drawings but this first builds if any will be small models. (im too poor to make a full size one at the time.:angry)
Hope too post sum pics soon. :)

I believe there is someone else also working on a hunter costume, but maybe two people working on them will get even moe interesting results!

This sounds AWESOME! But generally idea threads are kind of discouraged, some progress pictures is usually. But still, this sounds awesome, and I can't wait for pictures.

Hunter armor seems like it would be difficult to create due to its bulkiness and the squishy joint parts would have to be cast into a flexible material, like latex or something. I don't know if anyone has completed a hunter costume but I'd love to see someone make one, if you finished the end product would be crazy awesome. Definitely going to be following this.

thanks for all the quick responses guys. :)
Now for sum bad news. I just found out that a chest operation i was supposed too have in july has had too been moved to June. So i wont really be able to complete the build before then. :(
However, i still plan on getting the basic design work done. So if push comes too shove, are one of yall willing too try to pick up where i left off or are yall okay with waiting until im able to work on it again(It would take about 7 months for me to recover)

Also, can anyone here tell me how too post pics? hehe:$

Use the photocuket IMG codes . Once you upload a photo, go to the album scroll over the photo and there will be a tab that drops down and has different codes. Click the IMG code and it will say "copied to clipboard" then paste the code in your post here. Hope that helped :)

If you don’t mind me asking what type operation are you having ? I only ask because a few years ago I had to have a massive operation . I upgraded my heart and since I was split open anyways they went ahead and fixed some arterial issues also, it took me about six to 8 months before I was back to full speed. You will have my support and prayers
This is the first thread I’ve seen of anyone starting a hunter build will be looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

I dont mind at all. :)
I have a depressed sternum and it has gotten too the point now as too where it is makeing it hard for me too breath whenever i do anything more than walking. So the docs are going to break all the cartilige down too my 3rd rib and place a bar behind my sternum too help correct it. I will be in the hospital for a week before i can go home. After that for the next six months i cant do anything strenuouse at all. after the six month period i will have an outpatient procedure inwhich they will just cut open my side and remove the bar. I then have to wait at least another month before i can start doing anything strenuous again.
So there you have it.
And thank you for the prayers. :)

Ah, that sounds familiar. I had Pectus Excavatum too, and had the Nuss Procedure performed in 2007. I had the bar removed in 2009. I don't want to discourage you, since the procedure has a very high success rate, but to this day I feel it didn't work correctly for me as I still have shortness of breath/labored breathing sometimes.

Also, don't worry about the recovery being that bad. It took me about 3 weeks to recover from the inplant surgery (during which I had to sleep on a recliner). After that, you're back to normal with the exception of golf, tennis, or swimming. So, no real reason you cant work on the your armor project if you really want. The bar removal procedure was even easier: within 5 minutes of waking up, I was dressed and up and about, ready to leave the hospital.

If you'd like, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have, just send me a PM.

Spitfire22V and ShotgundZombie man you guys got off easy on your operations jk it would have been months for me if I hadn’t purchased the medical equipment that let me go home sooner but I’m glad you made through without problems Spitfire22V

okay, before everyone gets to thinking this is gonna be really souped up, i have too tell yall sumthin.
I have never actually done a build in my life! so this will probably not be as sick as a pvc/fiberglass build but i will put my heart into it.

Update:
decided that to start out with i would build the frame model outof K'nex. I have had a lot of experiance with these things as i custon d3esigned a B25 Mitchel out of them once. Ill post sum pics if anyone wants too see it.
once i have a knex frame built id like too try to make casts of the parts. However i have no real idea if it would work. can anyone help me out here?
Ill post pics of the frame as i build it.

Good luck! :)

This is exactly what im haveing done this summer, thanks for the support! :)

In my opinion, I think you're trying to tackle something too big for a beginner. There's a reason that a vast majority of the builds you see here are Spartans or ODST suits made if fiberglass from Pepakura models: it just works and there is the most information and content for it. There are tutorials, and build threads full of information about the entire process, not to mention most experienced people are capable of helping.

I'd suggest trying your hand at a Pepakura suit like just about everyone does when they're beginners, and after a while, with improved skills and knowledge of suit making, you could try a Hunter. I don't want to sound too pessimistic, but... K'nex? Not sure that will work. I'd stick to what works at first for the highest chance of success and lowest chance of disappointment, and then start experimenting.
