I am 36 years old, married with 2 sons. My sons love Halo, but I rarely play. When it comes to music, I am metal all the way. I was drawn to this site because of the creativity of the members and the fact the my studies have introduced me to most of the steps involved with creating these props. I have had courses in material processing (slush casting was covered), electrical circuit analysis (suit electronics), and technical drawing (3D renders). I am well trained in AutoCAD and currently awaiting a copy of Solidworks 2009 at my office. I think this process will be very rewarding in applying the theory of my studies to hands on application of the work. I have lurked here for several weeks reading through the forums. I decided to sign up officially in the forum 2 days ago. I have purchased my card stock, exacto knife, and adhesive. Pepakura seems simple enough, I may purchase the password soon to allow saving and export. That is to be determined as I have not finished playing with the free version yet. I have posted a question regarding a helmet render at http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12649&pid=308817&st=320&#entry308817 I will not restate the question here, as this is not the thread for it. I am sure I will be more active as I open a WIP thread and realize there are many more questions that I have not considered yet.
