I joined the 405th because I want to better create and understand the process of making props of the Halo world. I just spawned an interest because of the ODST live action commercial. The armor of the ODST appeals to me and I stumble onto youtube where a member of the 405th made a helmet using cardstock, after that I was amazed! I didn't think creating props like that were possible! Now I started my pepakura model, downloaded RUNDOWN's ODST Rookie helmet. The goal is to create a whole ODST armor before the release of Halo:Reach and for next halloween.
I draw and paint digitally, sculpting a set of ODST armor is a new, challenging and fun experience. Just by piecing it together with cardstock is additively fun as it is.

Hey everyone, i'm extreme noob here. My friend and I work at a Best Buy and some guys came in dressed as some storm troopers so we decided to start building our own suits.

Well after this past halloween I got started thinking about costumes. I really like robots...OK, I have a disturbing obsession with robots.
I wanted to build an Optimus Prime suit for a long time but really had no idea of how to go about it. I knew for sureI didn't want to make a lame cardboard one that any grade 4 student could make. So I creeped around online and after afew days I stumbled on this awesome place called the 405th.com! I'm happy to be here and i'm anxious to learn what I can from the vets around here. Looks like a great community and hopefully once I get my feet wet i'll be able to do my part and contribute!
