Well what I would do is fill the necks and pinholes, prime it really good and sand. If ot needs more prime again then wet sand. But I use different products than you guys so this is just what I would do since the primer I use easily fills 120 grit scratches on 2 coats.

Lemme guess you use an HPLV gun to shoot your primer :p. Once I get to the final painting stage I'll be using one of those to prime and paint I think I saw somewhere here you posted what kind of paint you use, maybe it was the filler you used. I switch between the good stuff (green in photos) and Bondo brand stuff, and there is a big diff. I'll take your advice though and primer first (I can see your judgment on using Urethane paint is a good one).

Thanks!

Pic Update!

First Cast off my mold. The faceplate still needs to be finished, detailed and molded, as well as the back lower half of the helmet which is almost done.. I've fixed a few things on the mold so some of the dents you see on this cast no longer exist. Need to take some new pics of the newer cast which will probably be tomorrow. The pictures of the cast are raw and unpainted, straight out of the mold.

really good work. that's awesome that you can just up and scrap one idea for another after almost finishing the first

Thanks! I'll be returning to the Iron Man helmet, I promised someone that I'd make them one. I'm just finishing the War Machine helmet first :p.

I saw that this hadn't been done yet and wanted a crack at it.

I did some more detail sanding on the faceplate (eyes and corners) and lower back of the helmet (sharpening corners and using detail files).

Just gotta fill a few holes and sand a little more and I'll be done with it. I'll take some pics of the complete helmet tonight hopefully. Then

both pieces will be molded. Then the fun part of the project starts.. Electronics.

Cheers,

-Jay

Almost done, just working out the very small details. The faceplate and back still have to be molded. These pics where taken before the work I did this weekend. I'll update with newer pics tonight hopefully.

Almost done! I still need to detail sand and mold the faceplate and back.

I've started the armor. Its a pep build (using juices files and dubeans unfold thanks guys!) and I'll post pics once I move on from the helmet.

Cheers,

Heres a quick update. One other helmet not shown...

DSCN1424.jpg

I took a break from the helmets for a week and decided to start on the armor. Its got a coat of rondo on it to preserve the pieces til I can get back to them.

Nothing worse then squished pep.

(not Pictured) The shoulders and left bicep are done and the left shin, abs and cod piece all need to be glued/put together.

More pics to follow.

That armor looks good enough to fly. Judging by your skills, it should be child's play for you add the rocket boots. :D

Nice work indeed. From looking at the first few pictures to what it has become to this point I can tell you've been working on it alot and have probably learned a great deal in the process. Keep up the good work!

So I've been busy, Here is some War Machine Faceplate goodness fer ya'll

I order the electronic components for Electronic Faceplate opening yesterday and should get it in the next few days.

Looking very nice, cant wait to see the electronic version!

Im electronically challenged so I like watching how people put theirs together.
