cheers voodoo but i can't seem to post it up on the elite site for some reason, maybe my status is too low or something to do that but the only place i could put it was the noob one.???..is there anyway to move it???

I think it has to do with post count but I'm not sure, I feel like such a noob.

the elite section's threads are hand picked by the moderators only, but this thread is just amazing, i think that this should be moved to its true home ASAP.

seriously, how many people do you see with full metal armor? This is amazing. Props to you.

Metal suit looks great! I bet it "sounds" good too!! Very nice trade skill to have being able to work with metal!

Hey guys,
found some more pics u might like of the inital helmet, its simply spot welded together and i borrowed the visor from the legendary helmet lol, looks pretty cool though...lookin back i'm very tempted to get the whole suit sand blasted again then polished instead of painted to show of its metaliness :D

nice work! did you use a pep file for the helmet also?

I made the rest of the armor using pep file, i think by robogenisis n that was along time ago! the helmet however was the first piece i made and i found it very hard to make with the pep files, too many intricate folds and bends...so i cheated lol. i got the legendary helm along wit halo 3 and it was roughly the size of my head so i placed paper over its panels and rubbed crayon around its edges to make the templates. then it was simply a matter of cutting them out and beating the life out of them over the anvil lol

loookin back though i probably hav the skills now to do it after all of the things i learn't making the rest of the armor
:D

That would be awesome if you just polished the raw metal. You'd be really shiny and metallic.

please...don't tempt me, i'm serious thinking about it even though i spent £80 on the paint!

Three words for you Ironman 117:

Steel Armor Wins!

I hope that everyone recognizes that this has been the holy grail of Halo costume making for many years, the source of countless arguments and technical debates, and almost everyone (myself included) thought that it would never be done, couldn't be done, would be impractical, too expensive, would take years to make, etc. I know many have tried and failed, many are trying right now as we speak.

Thanks for proving it and pushing the limits of costume armor. Thanks for proving the naysayers wrong. Here's hoping we see more steel armor here in the future.

I vote for Elite showcase for this build, and we should get you out of noob status ASAP. I'll ask around.

BTW, those of you who haven't seen the video, check this out:

Got one question. How do you put it on? Doesn't look like a whole lot of room to slip in and out of especially in the leg area.

Kudos to the suit. Amazing build.

i want to hear the sound of the suit as ou walk....bet it sounds wa better than fiberglass walking

plus you can get the true battle damage just by sanding off some areas

Heh, didn't have to re-enforce that with fiberglass, did ya?

I have a question, do you plan on making the gut-plate?

Anyways, I have to say this is epic-win material. Very nice job.
