Is there a place to buy Master Chief armor for paint-ball?

I am an avid Halo fan have been for since Halo CE:'s release. I would like to know if there is a place to buy ^ or if there is a guide for making it.

You're probably better off making it yourself - nothing you can buy would provide the right amount of protection for paintballing. Even then, I'd be a little wary, since home-made gear won't ever be as good as regulated safety gear.

Honest tip? Nice idea, probably not going to work. It's just not safe enough to be walking around in home-made armour getting shot at by high-speed balls of paint. Good way to lose an eye.

You can't buy it honestly, that's what he was trying to let you know. Nothing made on this site is supposed to be used at safety protection. Pretty much the only way you'll be able to get it is make it yourself :/

Exactly this. Paintball gear is tested to make sure there's no chance of you accidentally getting injured while playing. Home-made fibreglass and bondo armour just won't stand up to the sort of punishment that paintballing will put it under unless you make it ridiculously strong - and that will take time, and money. Plus, no sane paintball marshal would let you into a game wearing that if he thought you'd run the risk of getting hurt.

Seriously. I say this for your own safety: this is a very bad idea. Paintball-grade costumes just aren't available to buy, and making your own will be a fast-track to you getting really badly hurt.

No, No, and no. This stuff will not stand up to paintball/airsoft abuse. If you want MC armor to play paintball in then spray paint yourself green and go naked with a regulation mask. As for buying, well you dont. This is a site dedictated to helping you make armor for cosplay (costume) and such. If you came here for paintball or purchasing then just keep on surfing the net.

You can't buy them anymore (long discontinued) and even if they are, a set will set you back several thousand dollars.

The forum does not sell armor and does not encourage discussions involving paintball/airsoft and costuming due to liability issues so I suggest that you drop this lest you will hear from the mods.

None of the methods used here on the 405th are rated for safety. In fact, we urge you not to make it for such things like paint ball and arisoft. You also have to remember that the Master Chief is not bound by real world world physics. Its really hard to move around in a full suit of armor.

Also, armor breaks apart after repeated hits. It would be a shame to wast all your hard work on 1 round of paint ball. Here a vid some one made a while ago

Okay, I was wondering how I can lock this thread, and how to make a Master Chief costume (a guide would be nice, im a beginner). I wont wear it for paintball, just becasue it will be cool to have. Once again, I am sorry that I made this thread.

Hit up all the stickies in the noob section. There are many options for crafting armor, from pepakura (paper) to foam to cardboard. All are good options depending on your craftiness! And yes it would be damn cool to walk around in your own home made MC armor!

Don't worry. It's good to ask questions that prevent loss of eyes and bruises. To start off, you should read the stickies and tutorials. There's many methods to making armour. Most common are pepakura armour, foam armour, and casted armour.

Bondo is less durable than fibreglass because it's more brittle. And the video above shows what happens to a typical Bondo-on-fibreglass piece of armour: It breaks. I don't think that message can come across any clearer.

just an idea if you have money coming out the wazoo and conections in a lot of high places you could use balistics glass for the visor and resined balistics grade kevlar or carbon fiber with balistics gel padding? i know it would be really heavy but if your really strong like a marine or spec op dude mabye?

Speaking as a marine having playing paintball and down live fire exercises the last thing I want in my off time is to try and lug around more weight. Also blowing money to buy kevlar/carbon fiber/gel/etc just to put on way to much armor to play paintball is a bit over kill.
