So I had a commission to do a latex cyborg arm for someone to wear to Dragoncon this year with her Misty Knight costume. Here are progression pics of the project...

This is the ref image of the character...I was given free riegn to alter it so it could work in real life and be comfortable for her to wear and move around the convention in.

Gold lycra sleeve added underneath pieces to help blend things together better.

Sorry for the drop in quality in pics, my camera died during this project and I had to switch to using the digital still feature on my camcorder.

Yeah actually, my MKVI is going to have latex undersuit parts and a latex neck seal.

Very impressive.

Have you any thoughts of creating an under suit for the Mk VI armor with these talents?

My question is, how do you figure out how large to make the piece while it's flattened out? I know there must be some secret, but you got the dimensions PERFECT

I had a duct tape casting taken of the customers arm. All I did was cut the arm up and lay it out flat. Areas that had compound curvature to them I just replicated in the sculpt. Because I knew I would be making the castings in latex I enlarged everything a bit to take into account the shrinkage of the latex as it cures.
