Mass Effect Armor (pic Heavy)

I can't seem to find any papercraft type models for this. I personally want to try to model the Geth creatures for use with Pepakura does anyone else want to try to tackle some of these models as well?

It's hard to find a lot of good reference images to use for the alien races but there is a lot more out there.

I did manage to get a hold of a #D model for the SSV Normandy though that you can unfold and put together with Pepakura. I have a 3DM and a 3DS copy of them but I can export them in pretty much any format that you need. PM me and I'll email it to you.

What I'm gonna try for:

Looks a lot like a robotic elite... Very cool, but where would your head go? In the chest seems most logical, but then it may be hard to do the legs. Looks like it'll be cool, though, so good luck!

Actually, I was thinking of the placement of the head within the neck like the Sangheili and Alien costumes. Something like this:

But my hat's off to you for tackling this one, it's definitely gonna be unique and different, let alone cool since Mass Effect is such an underrated game.

It's nice to see someone else who is interested in doing something from this game. I'm starting on a Talli costume, beginning with the helmet. I would have liked to have just worked with a ripped character from the game, but I can't find anything, so I'm modeling the helmet myself.

If you have some money to spend, you could easily pick up a 3M full face respirator and use that as a base model to work off of and pep around

This is the type I use when I do resin & bondo work (runs for about $300)

This one looks closer to being accurate for the Tali costume though:

this one's a bit cheaper than the last one (about $150)

And here's another good one for $175:

Use a little limo tint on the inside of the visor and you're set for the front of the helmet!

I actually had to buy a new 360 to play Mass Effect once I saw the trailer for Mass Effect 2. I'm still playing it to try and unlock insane difficulty on it. Count me in on any files you have. PM sent with my address.

Progress on the Geth Armor. Slow work as Rhino is built more for object modeling instead of armor modeling. This is basically as far as I've been able to get with it recently.

I didn't bother to model the rest of the neck due to the fact that it's flexible in the game. I figure some type of low density foam like the type that they use for extra padding on mattresses would work very nicely as it can be sealed with either a flexible gel coat, silicone, or acrylic paint and then painted to look like the rest of the armor. The legs are proving tough, they are a pretty odd shape to try for but I figure if you walk like an elite it will work by padding the knees and the calves just enough to give you almost a reverse knee effect. Digi-stilts would make the legs too long. The helmet portion is working out excellently as the back of the helmet sits directly over the top of the person's head, about the swivel point of the in game characters' heads. I may have to sculpt the legs. There will definitely be a lot of bondo work on this one!
