Glad you didn't reply with "Nooo! That's my Bling!" :-D

I would never be so rude. I always take constructive criticism well.

Speaking of which: SUIT IS DONE!!!! Well, almost. I still need the boots, but the suit is debuting today at the local ski resort.

And yes, I know I have the butt plate upside down, here. When I was putting it on, I was wondering why the two halves weren't matching up. Now I know why. Going to have to remember to check that when I put it on.

Alright. First time out in public, and everyone wanted a picture. It was TON of fun. I also won the costume contest ($100 into my pocket)....It was SUCH A BLAST!!!

Nice work! Congrats on your 1st public outing!
All the pics look great!

Cheers!

Man Hickeydog, it came out real well. I LOLed at the ski resort pictures. Awesome job!

Thanks.

What, no shots of you doing back flips off ski jumps? hahahaha Suit looking good.

Whoa, the colour fits in really nicely with the snow. But it does look like it was reeeally cold :-D

Actually, it wasn't too bad. The temps were in the upper 40's that day, but the wind was the real killer. I cold a few times, but went inside and warmed up.

Nice work! Congrats on your 1st public outing!

Thanks.

I went on another little outing to Wally World just for the heck of it.

Ah yes. Holding the material that made this suit possible

Think this is big enough? Master Chief gets thirsty.

Deciding between coffee makers can be a real pain.

Sorry for the crappy pictures. I only had my cell phone.

Haha great photos! About the ski resort, costume contest, the others didn't stand a chance! Love how your suit turned out: well proportioned, good paint job, etc.

Also love the new photos, especially the one of you scratching your head reading the Reach book! Kind of an unusual question, but how does it feel to wear the suit out in public without an occasion (i.e. no Halloween or a game launch event). I feel that I'll want to wear my suit when it's finished a lot to make all the time and effort worth it, but I can't see msyelf just wearing it for no particular event.

LOL! I love all those pics! You did a fantastic job on this!

CONGRATS!

Glad to see that your taking MC out for a spin. As you already know, I love doing this myself. The last outing that I did was at an Outdoor Sportsman Show with my 4x4 (off roading) buddies. (see pic below)

I lost count after 137, of the number of pics that were taken of me. Kids, Teens, Adults, Parents, conservation officers, security officers... Even some of the booth operators wanted pics with me.

The feeling... Totally UBER, excited, thrilled, fantastic... the list goes on. All I can say is just HAVE FUN!

Cheers!

It doesn't seem awkward. It helps to have a friend along. Just do it. It's REALLY fun.

Hi everyone,

I am a 12 year old (Yes, i am twelve) and just wondering, about how much time total do you think making a suit of armor
would take?

I have already started building my set and have pepped and hardened the shoulder (using the hot glue method) and just wanted to know

THanks!!!!

p.s. YAY!!! my first post on 405th

I estimate that it took me around 400-500 hours to build this suit.

Awesome suit there Hickeydog. It's good to see you having fun with it too. I think I'll have to do that once mine is finished. Congrats man.
