While getting a few things today to start some work on body panels for the Warthog i though i would pass a couple of things along as they can be used on bracing up armor or put in weapon frames.

The first is patching tape for drywall, all it is, is fiberglass strips so it would work good sticking it into place then using hardener on it later. 4 to 6 dollars a roll depending on how big a roll you get. The 25 foot roll 6 inches wide is 6 dollars but a 1 7/8" roll 180 foot long is only 4 dollars. May be just the ticket for a little bit of extra strength you need.

The second is light weight expanded metal. The sheets i got are 2 foot by 8 foot long and was only 9 dollars a sheet. This works well for shaping then covering in bondo or fiberglass. If you fiberglass i suggest that you glass both sides. As far as bondo goes shorter pieces are fine, but tying to just bondo the piece and leaving it that way the first time it flexes good the bondo will break. Other uses for scratch projects would be like cutting the pattern for the pistol out and building up on it. Spray foam and shaping works good for custom panels that are very strong before you fiberglass them.

I have always wondered about that, I would like to see how it works with resin, might be WAY easier than fiber glass cloth.
