UPDATE!

Not much of an update, but hey, I'm bored and it's been a few days. I've finished the base layer on the back of the legs and I've got my shoes glued into the feet. Next step: oodles of blue! Also, UPS says my wig will be delivered later today! Lots more pictures to come, but for now...

WIG UPDATE!

So I got my wig, I have it cut and mostly styled. I'm having a little trouble keeping the bangs down, they really want to point straight out from my head. Any suggestions? Hairspray didn't seem to do the trick.

I've also started painting on the blue over the black. I love how it looks so far.

That is just getting creepier and creepier...it's like we are twins! Also, LOVE the style of your wig. As much as I love mine, I only wish that it was a tad longer in the front like yours. Personally I like the look of the bangs, but if you want them lower, just hit them with a blow dryer on LOW heat. It's will warm the plastic fibers and relax them.

In these pictures I actually just had the bangs soaked with water, they literally stick straight out!!! I'll have to try the blow dryer thing. I'm probably going to be adding some beads to the wig to make it look a little like coding, because I love that look in ther wigs (including yours Cortana and Para_fett(actually his wife lol)) I am really happy with how the wig turned out (aside from the crazy bangs!)

Cortana costume has been placed on hold temporarily. I had a nice bike crash a couple days ago and sprained my wrist. I don't really trust my ambidextarity with fine details (and paint that doesn't wash out). I will hopefully be able to get back to her soon!

Hello All!

So my wrist is doing a little better, but mostly I'm just obsessive and can't stay away even if it's for my own good. I have no self restraint. My suit was begging to be worked on.

I still have yet to put the blue layer over the back of the legs, but I’ve completed the detailing on the entire front and the upper half of the back.

My goal is to look like I have lines of code running up and down my body.

I bought a silver fabric paint pen (huzzah for craft stores and 50% off coupons!)that claimed to be washable until heat fixed in case I made any mistakes. It’s very washable within the first 10 seconds after being applied. So I had to be quick if I spotted a mistake.

I’m still going to stay away from the dark blue until my wrist is at least 75% better. Using a paint pen while in a splint is one thing. Using a paint brush is a whole other dealeo.

I also tried my hand at a little pepakura- I give you the activation index! Pep files courtesy of Billybob884 from Deviant Art. It took like 45 minutes. I’m pretty pleased. It could be a fun little prop to have

So woot! I'm almost there guys! I'll hopefully have fully complete pictures up by the end of the week. Then I've just got to find me a Master Chief and a photographer!

Thanks! I'm being inspired in baby steps to try peping. These forums are so full of amazing armor!
And yes. The coding is all being done free hand. I am cheating a little I'm using a fine point silver paint pen. It makes it much easier to get even lines.
