My Cortana Costume - *FINISHED! START ON pg5

lol the back was actually a bit of a fluke... but sure, we'll go with "I totally meant to do it that way cause I'm f***ing pro like that". XD lololol Overall, I'm quite happy with it. :3

I've been styling wigs for quite a while, and I also do wig commissions.... So yeah... lol Could do that, send it to me and I can style it. Though I only work with high quailty wigs so if we did go that route, might be best if I ordered it (or at least send you a link to one I suggest).

Well I DO like the color of the wig you got. HOWEVER, since I can be particular with colors, I would want to make sure that the wig matches the color of the bodysuit. Although I probably could just airbrush some color to it afterwards to make sure the colors look right. I believe I posted a link to a picture I did of Cortana in this thread. I want to use similar colors that I did in that picture.

Probably not. Cortana was meant to be a quicky easy side costume for PAX, not the main costume (my armor will be). I may or may not making an Index that lights up later. idk we'll see how lazy I am. lol

Yeah I ended up spray painting mine a bit to better match my dark blues on the suit. Really, in all technicality, unless you get the wig FIRST then do the body suit, I don't think you'll get an EXACT match if you do it the other way around (learnt that. :\ )

Not gonna lie, the biggest thing I wasn't happy with this costume were the contacts..... Not only were they not comfy, but they were NOT blue enough, my eyes are still really dark. D: I'll have to pick up a light icy blue one for PAX. First time playing with face paint though, not bad I'd say!

Amazing Cortana! I love the coloring of the body suit how it fades from white into the blue. The coloring is phenomenal!

@Mac: Thanks! Yes, I wanted to give more depth and texture to the 'plain' blue parts of the suit, instead of all the just flat blue, or only shiny blue other Cortana's I've seen.

@Lone: Thanks! It was a first for me to play with face paint. I don't even wear make-up on a regular basis and I can count with one hand how many times I have used make-up, all cosplay related. But I learned a lot from just my first application of the face paint and I'm sure the more I wear her, the better the face will look.
Washing your face off at a Boston Pizza, awkward lol.


Also warning to all, do NOT use any sort of spray paint on your face (like how I used the glitter spray paint, same kind used for the body) if you do not like your eyes stinging.... Trust me, it hurts like a bi*** and ONLY do it if you don't care about your own personal safety, like me. lol Even then, I still wouldn't suggest it. But if you ARE gonna be a retard like me and do it anyways, my only suggestion: after you get a friend or someone to lightly (and in short bursts of sprays at a time), when you're done, do NOT open your eyes right away or stop holding your breath. Take a step or two away from the direct area your face was in, fan your face a bit with your hands or something, and just dissipate the fumes near your face. Because THAT'S what's gonna get your eyes going. Just saying... Still gonna suggest not to do it though lol.

@Long: Thanks! I can't wait for the many many shoots to ensue at PAX! Will be good to pose with someone who doesn't just stand there like an awkward statue. XD Jon is great and all, but he lacks any ability to understand how to pose. XD And since I've taught you some, I'm sure posing with you will be MUCH easier. XD

Awesome candid shot. XD I was just holding on to someone's rocket launcher and yeah, epic. Cortana with a rocket launcher, don't mess with her!

(Tried to get a see through look with the help of some windows. This was the only that turned out; all the other ones multiplied me cause they were all double panes of glass)
