My First Spartan Build (Work in Progress)

Hello everyone!

I'm adding my recent cosplay of a Halo Spartan I've been working on this year. This is just a short documentation of my progress, refinements, additions, and pictures from events I wore this armor at.

My costume is inspired by the Mark V armor seen in Halo CE. It consists of 6mm and 2mm EVA foam sheets anyone can find online or at Arts and Crafts stores. Lots of hot glue adhesive, elastics, and acrylic paint were added to this armor. I wanted a complete costume, but I couldn't make a full armor set in time for C2E2 because of my busy schedule. I added some parts from my old ODST cosplay to "complete" the Spartan Armor for now. Fortunately, I have spare time between conventions to add new parts until it is complete. It is an iterative process so I will post updates now and then.

The pictures in this post come from the beginning stages of development, my first time wearing it at C2E2, and wearing the next iteration at my university's first one-day convention. The last two images have recent additions to my armor, which gets me closer to a complete Mark V Spartan suit!

you have a great start.

Don't feel like you need to rush. do the work and make the best parts you can!

Costuming is a fun hobby, and everyone has to start somewhere. don't get too caught up in comparison.

Welcome to the 405th! and I look forward to what you will continue to make in the future!

Thank you, friend!

I agree that I should take my time and not rush things, especially if I want to wear it multiple times at various conventions. These are true words that costuming is a fun hobby. I've enjoyed producing armor and props since I started cosplaying (Halo ODST inspired me to get into cosplay funny enough).

Thank you for the welcome message and I look forward to this awesome community!
