New York City and Costuming?

Hey everyone! I moved to New York City a couple of years ago and have run into the issue that I don't have any space to costume or make props. Not to mention even working with chemicals. Was curious if anyone from the city had any tips on how they build or costume?

I don't live in the city, but I'd recommend switching to foam.
