Noob WIP: Mark VI (unfolded by Robogenisis)

Well I am really tired from work and really have no interest in pepping the freaking chest piece atm so I'm going to start back on that on the weekend. MIGHT have that put together by the end of the weekend. After that(weather and work permitting) I will resin the outside of both pieces during the week

I followed instructions as far as cutting and scoring. I found a butter knife and aluminum ruler to b invaluable for scoring. The knife was also invaluable when putting pieces together, I simply put a thin layer of hot glue on the tab(let it cool), lined it up with the other side, held it in place with the butter knife flat along the tab then applied the glue gun(without pulling the "trigger") directly to the knife. The heat transferred through the knife to the tab and melted the glue while being held in place by the knife. Result, clean edges, no extra glue everywhere. I also would "tack" either end and the middle of some tabs(kinda like spot welds) to lock them in place then use the knife to move slowly across the tab so that only a small part of the glue was melted at any one time(kinda like iron on patches). Using the knife REALLY cuts down on the amount of glue used and gives the pep really clean lines. In tight spaces i would simply hold the sides together with a finger and apply the glue gun(with no glue at all on the tip) to the outside of the pep. I would not recommend doing it as I nearly burned myself numerous times while attempting it but sometimes it was the only way(the chin was a pain in my fingers as well as my a$$)

Been a long time but the torso is pepped and I'm ready to move to the next piece(as soon as I decide what I'm doing next)

That thing looks great, but I strongly suggest (weather permitting) that you resin these pieces before you get too far, at least, so as to protect such fantastic pep work from accidents. I'd hate to see anything bad happen to them! But if you are really good at storing and protecting them, it wouldn't be necessary.

Wow, three years later and I have litterally gotten no further
A bunch of stuff has vome up to keep me distracted. Not to mention the limitations of using resin in an apartment in Canada. I can only work on it on the balcony and only during prime weather.
I think I'll try to get back to it this spring.
playing Xcom: Enemy Unknown has gotten me back into the armor making swing, lol.
