:agree: I might but I have like 4 different projects on my plate(wink Leading wink), and they all cost money, somthing of which I don't have much of  . Oh well.

man i want to do this but i still have to work on my first set of MC armor, then i will definetly consider doing ODST. Jsut waitng for those files.

Should have just uploaded it in the first place, didn't think there'd be that much interest in the files.

Here's the link http://rapidshare.com/files/45690700/ODST_Files.rar.html

That has:

The original model that I took from the game.(textures aren't working for some reason)

The file I used for Pepakura for the helmet without any of my adjustments.

The file I used for Pepakura for the Chest Armor without any of my adjustments.

The file I used for Pepakura for the Leg Armor without any of my adjustments.

Enjoy.

How come when I click the un-fold button it all ends up on one page and when I number the edges there are still some that don't have any #'s on them?

It's because it is a .obj file instead of a pepakura file. What I did to get it the right size was scaled it by height and had a sort of trial and error process.

That's the tricky part, the size I used for mine is about a scale of 3000. But that seems a little small. My advice is to just take measurements and try to get it so that it will fit you.

Thanks!

I'm tweaking the full body one.... Getting the upper arm armor, and a few of the other facets, to fit on a regular letter sized sheet of paper when it's scaled to 198 cm overall is a trying process.

I think I might see if I can get arms separated when I get home from work and have a 3d program to work with and not just pepakura.

EDIT:

Never mind. I found the Divide edges button.

That's awesome! Could you send me the file for the chest armor? Im panning on working on my own cardboard/molded ODST model soon.

He already did b/c he is awesome. Check page 2

FinAeros, try using the metasequoia program linked at the pepa site. It's much easier to use to divide up the models, and you can rescale the model if you choose.

Now if only we had a separate texture to wrap on it...

Another quick update, got the helmet mostly fiberglassed and the back of the check armor fully glassed. The leg armor pieces, I am sad to say did not turn out so well. When fiberglassing the right leg piece the fiberglass weighed down one side and made it crooked. The other side I experimented ways to mod on and wound up destroying it. You guys got any ideas as far as putting the details in and smoothing it out? The way I was going to do it didn't pan out. Anyways, I reprinted the pepakura leg set and got more hot glue at Ace today. I also have been doing some research for electronics to put into the helm. I plan on either custom making or ordering a rechargeable battery to put into the helmet to power the radios and LED's.

I had planned to go faster on this project, but going to the gym, work, and a series of Halo parties has set me back quite a bit. Anyway, I got most of my stuff together today and am working dedicatedly once again on this, just gotta make sure to be done but October 28th.

There's a smoothing tut for pepakura in the paper forum. It works pretty well. I'm working on a new idea for the details on my ODST helm. I'll have some pics up in a little bit in my helm thread. The tried and true way though is to put a little bondo on it and sculpt the details with sanding.

Consider doing the leg pieces in two sections, shin and calf, and hold them together with nylon belts and buckles or use velcro.

Sigma's suggestion from the smoothing tutorial is valid as well.
