Weta is the Special Effects master house based out of New Zealand that did Lord of the Rings and King Kong, as well as parts of other studio projects.

They are renown for skilled and detailed craftmanship.


Also, a Weta is a bug indigenous to NZ that fills ecological niches usually occupied by rodentia elsewhere. It looks sorta like a cockroach crossed with a locust.
