Could someone please export the Robogensis MKVI handplates in 3d for me, or if they are available in Solidworks file format that would be even better.

I am at my northern Alabama work location and have access to a 3d printer and would like to see how they come out for molding purpose.

With Christmas around the corner I need to wait until it has passed before I purchase a license for Designer 3 to do this for myself. If someone could help me out on this I would surely appreciate this.

Thanks,

Doug

Erm you cant export a 3d file from a pdo. But you can always ask robogenesis himself

Doug, try to download that file

There STEP, STL and IGS models that you can easily import to any CAD programs.

Good luck with your rapid prototyping machine :)

Thank you sir...

It was STL I needed to easily print from solidwork so I am hoping that we can get it printed out today before having to head back home. I have wanted to see the machine in operation everytime I come up here.

If not I will have the guys here mail it back to me.

Also great job on your CQB helm your doing...

If you cant export a 3d file what is the Export feature for. There is an option for an Object file, is that not a 3d file. Or am I confused on what the export is for?

Thanks,

Doug

Ok,

We were able to load up the file and size it to my hand, and now it has been uploaded to the printer.

Here is some screen shots of the print path the 3D Printer will use to build up the material.

It is going to take roughly 5 hours to print this and I have a couple of pictures of this happening. However I had to leave their center so I’m on the road right now.

Guess I have to wait for it to be mailed out to me next week.

Here is a pic of the printer laying up the material..

I did find out there the two pieces is amore or less $300.00 in material, Nice to have perks at the job....

Ok just got home and my co worker was kind enough to email me some pics of the finished product...

Here they are hot off the press

And one over his hand for size comparisons..

Now all i have to do is clean them up and mold.

Cant wait for them to arive.

 Looks badassiest!

btw, it's my model, not RG's :rolleyes

I modeled it to use in my "Pepakura mold" prototype

Well thank you for allowing me to use it....

Just think I got the model this morning and had a prototype by afternoon. Thats putting the rapid in rapid prototype

Anyway when I get to casting let me know if you would like a set for your generosity.

Thanky!

Next thingy you must 3dprint is definitely that:

I have it's STL model too :)

What is the footprint of that in real life, the printer only has a 10" x 10" bed. If that works let me know or shoot me the file and I will get it to my co worker to print out as well...

Sweet FDM work!! I wish I had discount access to an FDM printer (and an SLS and EBM printer for that matter!). I'm stuck with discount access to a ZCorp printer o_O But we are getting a laser cutter, a laser welder,a newer high resolution ZCorp printer, and a Polyjet printer that will print in Tango in our new school next semester! I'm pretty psyched about that!!

Yeah, with ejected clip it's footprint is less than 10x10 :)

I need additional research before sumthin...
Cause it is:
1. Halo CE model
2. It is scaled to easily allow for average adult hand to insert four fingers into protective arc and tightly hold the grip. If Halo3 model has more loose arc, model can be scaled down additionally.

Cool... I can allways have the clip printed seperate if that helps.

Also the higher the detail the better cause the printer can handel it with ease.

ZCorp printers are nice and allow for cheaper operation, the models are more delicate once finished and require some TLC until there treated with resin.
