Hello All!

Another great Planet Comicon is in the books! If you are new or did not know, throughout the year Planet tables at various events to promote both Planet Comicon and Planet Anime. Jim Bartlett is the one who organizes and posts these events on Facebook. Since not everyone uses Facebook we will do our best to post the information and updates here. If you would like to be added to Jim's Facebook group, feel free to reach out to SpartanSweed or I.

Working these events will earn you a FREE pass to Planet Comicon or Planet Anime. 1 Event = 1 Day Pass. 3 Events = 3 Day pass. If you work 3 events and decide to use it for Planet Anime in October then you would be back at 0 for Planet Comicon. You can work as many of these as you like. Some events will also have multiple shifts available. If you are confused on the system, feel free to ask SpartanSweed or I.

How these typically work: Planet will have a table with a raffle box and QR code. You will direct people to the table to scan the QR code and sign up for the Planet Comicon email list. Once they sign up it will have a green check mark showing it's complete and they'll show the Planet workers at the booth who will then give them a raffle ticket for their name and email. Planet will raffle off a 3-day pass at the end of every event. We mostly get to stand and look pretty for pictures but please remember good booth etiquette as this not only reflects on the 405th but also Planet Comicon. Having a good 405th presence at these events helps ensure we are awarded a booth space at Planet Comicon each year.

May Events
Planet goes to Science City

Where: Science City at Union Station, 30 W Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108
When: May 4th, Time TBD
What: As usual help promote Planet and direct people to the table for the raffle. However, this event is significantly more laid back. We will be able to walk around and take pictures inside and outside of Science City. Interact with the kids or just have fun ourselves. If I remember correctly, there's a hallway that looks like the inside of a space ship so we can probably get cool pictures in our suits! Parking is available in the garage next to Union Station and will be validated. We have had access to a changing room in the past but will confirm with Jim.

I'd be down for this, but I live in St. Louis...let me know if you're gonna be at any events and need a volunteer in St. Louis.

New Promotion Alert! Next week on Thursday, June 27th at the KC Monarchs!

Words from Jim:
Today I finalized arrangements for us to cosplay at the Monarch's game next Thursday June 27th at 6:00pm! Planet Promotions is a member of the Greater Kansas City Attractions Association and as such we occasionally have an opportunity to attend events going on in the city. Next Thursday is the GKCAA Tourism night at Legend's Field! SO, we will have a booth there and I would love to have some family friendly Superhero and other fun cosplays to help liven up our booth! We will have a place to change inside starting at 5:30 and then gates open at 6:00pm. Game starts at 6:30 and you can stay and watch the game or leave at the middle of the second inning. This is a promo and you will earn points towards tickets to the con. I will have instructions for parking and admission posted on the event page soon. Let's do this!

The previous post was postponed and has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 25th! Same time frame and location as the previous post but will update when I know more!

Hanging with Heroes
When: September 21st, 9am-12pm
Where: 7311 NW 87th St, Kansas City, MO 64153-1933, United States
Description:
The KC Mom's Collective hosts this fun children's activity in Zona Rosa every year and uses it as a way of raising money for local charities!
The event is outdoors at Central Park in Zona Rosa which is located at N Dixson Ave and NW 87th st. in Zona Rosa.

They have supported the cosplayers very well in the past. They have a great space for changing clothes and they are very appreciative of our efforts.

This is an event with lots of little kids! PLEASE dress appropriately! Nothing too risque or grotesque. No prop guns are allowed.

This year the event runs 9am-noon! You can arrive early to change if need be. We will have a booth there so please look for the table so you can sign in. They will probably stage us in the area to provide photo ops.

Let's GO!!
Special Notes: The event organizers have requested that we bring no firearm props to the event.

We’ve got another event!
We are going to help make the KC Live! Block Halloween Tricks or Treats event fun! Please come downtown to the Power and Light District and park in the KC Live parking garage at 13th and Grand. We will have parking vouchers for you. Kid friendly cosplays please! Find the Planet Table on Walnut between 13th and 14th Streets. This is usually a lot of fun!

Participation does go towards a free pass to Planet!
