Project: Hayabusa Helmet... And A Little Somethin Else...

Ok everybody I know I havent posted anything in a while so here you are... my hayabusa helmet so far. If you saw my earlier progress pic you will see I re-did it. That part got all screwed up so I just started over. I should be ready to fiberglass within the next couple of day I think, It depends all on if my brother comes down to visit. He is in the Navy and we have not seen him in months. He was all set to come down tommorow but now he is being told he is not allowed to come. He asked his superiors weeks ago if he could come down and they gave him permission, but now they are saying its 99% sure he can't come. We had so much so stuff already planned like going river rafting (which is awesome), and now we don't think we can do any of it. My mom is in tears over the whole matter because she never gets to see him. Anyways to sum up what I was saying, if he comes I will be way to busy to finish this right away but it still shouldn't take to long, but like I said as its looking now I don't think he can come.
Anyways sorry for getting so off topic, so here are my pics so far.
The spikes are so annoying to put together! I hate them even though they look sooooo awesomeeeeee! Once I get the spikes done the rest will be easy

Also, anyone who has not done made this yet but is still planning to, I seriously suggest you stick with 32 cm. I can guarantee it will work good for any of you. Thanks so much NZ-TK for telling us a good size! It might have taken forever to find a good size due to the fact its hard to tell how big it should be with those spikes!

I'm still around. Though I've been busy with other projects and jobs, so no progress with my 'Busa.

Ok you guys here are some updated pics on muh busa so far. I spent about 3-4 more hours working on it and now I have all the spikes done. YEY!!!! I have had a few problems with them that I need to fi, nothing too major. Some of the flaps have come up in some spots and I have to go back and make sure they are all glued down. One other thing that annoyed me was the tip of one of the big spikes came off. It was a nightmare to try and glue because I couldn't get my finger inside of it because it was so small and I wasn't able to put pressure against the flaps to secure it. I figured out how to do the second one luckily, but I cant do the same thing to put that piece back on. Ok, enough of my bliber-blabbeling and on with the pics.
As you can see I decided not to put the whole visor in even though I modeled it in the 3d model. I just put 4 different parts of the visor in to work as braces, and I'll cut them out after I fiberglass. I just thought it would be pointless to put the whole visor in because it won't be on the finished helmet anyways, because there is no way to see out of it.
Anyways, I am going to try and push through and finish up the paper part of it tonight. If not I should have it finished tommorow and I should be glassing and bondoing within the next few days. So just tell me what you think.

looks awesome so far. im working on a hayabusa helm and im about as far as you, but im taking my time as slow as posible. keep up the good work!
I am so happy! I have finally finished the paper part of the hayabusa helmet! It was so annoying! I am now almost ready to start fiberglassing, I just have to inspect it closely to make sure that everything is glued down properly and that nothing needs to be fixed. I will hopefully start glassing it either tommorow or the next day.

looks good, you did better job folding than i did, i have ine bodoed, needs a lot more sanding, and good luck on yours!

5.29MB for a sword?? That's seems like a big file for what it is. I thought you were going to reduce the poly count?

I know that you are referring to your file but I have my "Busa" as well...but this is a 4 part Busa meaning the Crown, L Crest and Right Crest are seperate from the helmet. But I am working on your Busa as well just so I can see the diff because when I place my helmet on my with my torso it tends to hit the back part...oh well!!
