I was thinking of ideas to make the most out of the Halo Nerf MA40 repaint prop, and I was curious if anybody has made it so the "power button" (the small button on the grip under the main trigger) turn on a flashlight in the underbarrel grip area? Since I don't need to have the shooting functional, that gives me a free button to use for nefarious purposes! So repurposing that button to activate a flashlight seems the most useful course of action.
I know there have been tons of repaints of this gun that have included a real flashlight in the bottom, but as far as I've seen there hasn't been a build that incorporates this method.

That's the best thread I've found in relation.
I'd also plan on adding a small speaker system that would play the AR shooting sounds on loop for as long as the trigger it held, a blue LED light behind the ammo counter (with a correct amount of rounds), and a properly sized magazine with working release system.
