Part 1: A Brief History of My Rakshasa Core

My history with this core goes back to the release of Season 2 of Halo Infinite, Lone Wolves. The moment I saw the core I was in love, it was a love letter to one of my favorite parts of Halo, the headhunters, the Office of Naval Intelligence's own personal boogeymen. It wasn't until a few months after the season's release that Aguilar Workshop would release his take on the core in the form of 3D printable files to make your own suit. It was with those files that I jumped to making my own suit, which in turn ended up being one of the first Rakshasa suits ever made. See below.

Now I wasn't super happy with this build, it was a rush job, wasn't entirely complete, and lacked shoulder plates, boot covers, and any armor attachments. So with all that in mind, and a goal set I moved onto V2 of the Rakshasa suit. I was designed to be a love letter to ODSTs and the Spartan IVs that were once ODSTs. Featuring a Mark VII helmet, the UA/Sacrifice chest attachment, the UA/Iota shoulder with the radio, and a shin mounted MK88 Navy Knife. During this suit's construction I gained the title of the "Rak City Guy" which is a badge I wear with honor. During and following this suit's construction I essentially gained the reputation as the 405th's resident Rakshasa expert, which I may not agree with but am happy to hold as this core is one I love. After the completion of V2 I added a flight suit and tactical vest to really complete the look. See V2 & V2.5 Photos Below.

All this being said, it was a build I was happy with. It wasn't perfect, and I learned a lot from it and because of that I decided to carry on to my most ambitious build yet, which I debuted at the Halo World Championship in Seattle, WA last year. This suit was meant to be my take on a Spartan Headhunter, featuring looted banished armor plates, scavenged Colonial Military Authority gear, some graffiti, and the shining jewel, a shock rifle. This suit, and I say this with great despair, was in my eyes a failure. It came out rushed, with bad paint applications, less than stellar weathering, and at worst some of the scaling was just wrong. See V3 "Headhunter" below.

To me that suit was a failure, but also a huge learning experience. With what I've learned I'm ready to take the leap forward to making my best Rakshasa suit yet, featuring cross core pieces, a jetpack, and my favorite color scheme yet. I can't wait to start this journey with you fine folks, and debut this build in March. Stay tuned for more! See new suit concept below.
