As far as the visor goes, I am going to use a motorcycle visor. I have it, but just have to finish the small red and yellow triangles and then I will do the visor. It looks sick.

nice cant wait to see it

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL MAN!!! I'm for sure going 2 make a REACH Spartan NOW!!! and yeah I'm going 2 start wetting the stenicil a bit now since it came out that awesome! :)

After I've been gone for so long, I can feel nothing but pride in knowing this post is in this thread. Brandon, this is beyond epic dude. I can't tell you how inspired I was seeing your classified add, and coming and reading this whole wip. This is a work of art, and I'll be sending you a pm pretty soon. Absolutely beautiful.

Once again, thank you so much for all the words of encouragement, and thanks to all those who have showed interest in the pulls. I picked up the red and yellow paint today, cut my stencils and finished up the paint. Here are some pics!

They yellow triangles look more worn in real life than in the pics. I really love how it looks in natural light. Now I just need to do the visor and padding and its all done. Maybe I will do that tomorrow...

Wow, this really is nothing short of amazing. So we started out with MK 5/6 armor, shifted to MK 4 armor for awhile, then it was/is ODST's... Next is Reach spartans. I'm thinking you're inspiring the new trend around here lol.

WOW... how u weathered ur helmet is amazing compared 2 my ODST Helmet it must've taken you a long time for that

I guess now that I have 2 take it slow when I'm drybrushing.

and hey what base color did you use on ur helmet?

This is really awesome work brandon! One of my favorite helmets. :) Can't wait to see it with a visor.

As far as the weathering goes, it really didn't take long at all. Maybe and hour tops for the white wash, black wash and dry brush. The trick with the dry brush is to wait until the paint is mostly dry on the brush and just barely hit the raised/sharp edges. The stencils took a little while to cut out, but the paint goes quick. If you are going to stencil, hit it once lightly and remove the stencil IMMEDIATELY otherwise it will bleed into the paper and you will lose the sharp lines. I wait until the paint is dry and then use a brush with no paint on it and brush over it to knock it down till it fits my liking. I liked the original paint, but the weathering looks stupid awesome in person, the pics just don't do it justice. At Pooper, you don't have to wait long. I was getting a little antsy last night, so I popped in the visor using hot glue, and then put in the liner, so the helmet is officially DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are the pics:

I will definitely be installing a couple fans in the near future, one in the front to keep the visor from fogging and another in the back to vent the rear and top to keep my melon cool. It is crazy comfy with the helmet liner and doesn't bobble head at all! Needless to say, I am glad to have it done! Now its on to the next part... What it will be, I don't know...

I eventually want to do vacuum formed visors for the helm, but that will be a future project. The LT helm has at least 3 different sections, so it would be hard to recreate using a dual layer visor. So yes and no, I plan on doing a detailed visor, but not a mulitlayer. I am just trying to figure out how to get the reflective coating on the vacuum formed plastic. So its another project for another day.

Brandon, you are the man! As I mentioned before, DEFINITELY one of my favorites.

Do you plan to make the attachment piece? And what color gray did you use on your helmet (sorry if I missed it...)

nice work :D

I thought you would pull it off! congrats on having the first baddass finished reach helmet :p

diggin the paintjob to btw :D epic...
