hey SJSU ive adjusted your helmet a bit, got rid of some open edges and added some minor details (sorry i didn't ask for permission) and i was wondering if i could upload on here so someone could have a crack at unfolding it?
i cant pm and i dont know your email to ask.
hope its ok
Update time guys. So I'm doing better since my brother's death last month, I actually started sketching again this week with school so I'm starting to feel like I'm recovering. I haven't had any inspiration to work on my armor till just last week so here's what i've got going.
The shins fit well, and just need to be painted and padded. maybe I should have painted them first rather than black on black.
The thighs fit but a little too snug for my taste. So what I am doing is I cut out the inner thigh and once I install the pads, I will reattach the cut section with elastic bands that will adjust to whatever size leg goes into them. I think I'll keep that in mind when building the Mark VII armor.
Lastly, the body armor fits perfectly so I bow to Iganderson for your awesome work. You have my eternal gratitude. I cut the sides to get in to the armor and will have them be snap on parts once I'm done. The armor is a little front heavy so maybe when I install the speakers into the back it will balance out.
I'll update with the gauntlets and boots later when they're done. I still have to build the biceps and belt as well as order the clips and what not. I'll have to get on that soon too. Wish me luck. Thank you again for your words of support before. Man-hugs (and kisses for the ladies)
Yes I'm well aware that it's 3am over here in CA. Sue me. Finished the padding, now i have to add the inner parts to the thigh guards. They fit much better now because of the elastic bands and don't move too much when I walk. I think I'll even take 'em for a run to test out their ability to handle during a sprint. lol. Shin #1 has been painted, but #2 needed to be sanded more inside. now there's a hole in #2 which needs to be patched and sanded more inside so i can get my size 12 foot through the hole. Hopefully I'll get that done after a couple hours sleep. Monday I hope to finish pepping the belt and shoulder guards. Also I ordered some military tactical gear to add to the look. A couple M24/AR mag pouches and a deployment pack. Unfortunately i don't have the time to create a custom ghillie suit like Jun's, so i have to settle for some specially folded and cut cloth to try and 'fake' it a bit. We'll see how that goes this week.
So i have everything built that I can manage with time. right now the biceps and cod are curing and I can sand those down either thursday or saturday. Until then everything else will be getting a detailed paint job. The body armor is painted and just needs the sheet of fabric attached. The thigh guards are just about good to go. i need to add a couple more straps to tie them to my belt which will be holding them up seeing as they do slide down a bit still. The boots i'm pleased to say fit better than I expected. Just used a rubber boot you can get at either OSH or home depot Shins still need to be painted and detailed as do the gauntlets and hand guards. I don't have the funds or time to get the visors needed for george, or six's helmets so i just gave my MK 6 a lil paint touch-up. I think it looks good still after 2 years.
