And thank you ALL for all your feedback!

WOW! that is what i exactly needed. So apparently he just traces the pieces on the foam and cuts em out? WOW that is very cost effective, but will have to take some practice. The videos were hard to look at considering the large amount of xbox 360s and screens DAMN thats a lot!

This is looking great. The paint job is amazing. Really liking the battle scar effects. I'm actually considering using foam for my next build, seeing as how I do scratchbuilds anyway. Awesome build.

glad to see my idea becoming so popular great job so far I'm sure there will be many foam armors being built, Im glad ben did a video I just don't seem to have the time lately.

Geez, I am really loving that paint job! This is turning out great. I've never seen a foam armor set before, so great job so far.

wow, weathering looks great. How did you make it look like that. Don't forget the stomach plate btw. Cant wait to see this done. looks amazing so far.

Thats some awsome looking foam, but how durable is it?
Also, what is being used for the details, are they carved out or are they pieces that are glued on?
Great Job

Looks Great, especially for a foam build. I find foam is pretty versatile, so I like to use it all the time, especially for inexpensive costumes that I need done relatively quickly.

As per everyone's concern that spraypaint will eat foam, from all my experience, it does not. I use it in a lot of projects. If you're still concerned, take the spraypaint in question and spray it on a scratch piece while you finish building. Look at it when you're done in a few days, and see if anything happened. If not, you've got the go-ahead!

I wonder what area in walmart you get the form from? because I really dont see any form in my walmart that look like yours :/

I got it in the weight lifting section, but i got it from a Superstor - if that makes a diffrence.

wiyumishere - the battle dammage was done by painting black on with a paint brush. I do have a chest plate - it just might not be big enough.

GunGryphon - This foam is very durrable, i used a dremel to cut out the detail.

tsau-mia - I used plasti dip so seal the foam so i dident just slap the paint on. i also dident even try to paint it without it. i was afraid of paint cracking and soaking into the foam.

Thanks for all the great comments.

Walmart: Sporting Goods, near the machines. Look for a Gold's Gym brand.

I also found out yesterday that you can get black foam from Sears in both the 1/2" squares or a large 4' x 8' 1/4" sheet. I needed some black 1/4" so I picked up a roll for $25.

You can paint the foam "raw" with Krylon Fusion no problem. However, if you have sanded or used a dremel on part of the piece, the parts that had material removed will appear duller and soak up a lot more paint. I have a painted sample if you would like to see a picture of the difference.

AHH! no wonder I didnt see it LOL I dont really check the sporting good area that very much LOL Thanks!! :)

wow.... thats amazing! for low cost and not dangerous with workin with fiberglass and stuff. im kinda ignoring the bucket but still... Good job!

The paint job looks incredible. I was wondering if you can show how you used plasti dip to seal the foam? Any chance you can take pictures of that process on the next armor piece? I want to try foam and any hints to make it look as good as your would be appreciated.

On another thread user TD2253 pointed me to Harbor Freight for the foam ($9), going to pick some up tonight...

man that armor looks awesome. I really like the paintjob. Thanks for the tip I will try it out with mine when I paint. Keep up the awesome work! Can't wait to see a helm that matches.

Thanks TheBradinator. Nice WIP thread. The paintjob on your armor already makes it look like you've slugged through several campaigns of intense combat already, I can imagine what it will look like completed.
The industrial yellow was a nice choice. You're gonna look like a bad-ass front loader when it's done.
