You doin a H3 marine and ODST too? (Why you holdin out on us lol) BTW nice SMG :p

Haha, thanks!
I kind of don't know what to do with the SMG...I need to fill it with rondo, but it seems like A LOT of rondo...so it's just lying there gathering dust.

My marine helmet was my first helmet and it's kind of a disaster. I feel like it won't ever advance past that, haha.

If you are going to make a new helmet, try mine:D (dl link at page 2)

You might have to rescale it. It is set to 29cm now but I think 27 would be a better size;)

Wow! Thats awesome! Im starting my build tomorrow, but im also doing some stuff for a few friends. Mind if I make this one too?

Finals are over and I've come to visit my parents, so I can work on the helmets again.
I added in the detail lines for the ODST helmet...and yes, I made another hole (on the left)

I also added a 2nd layer of rondo inside my Noble 6 helmet and the EOD helmet because the first layer I put in the last time I was here was too thin.

My dad either took the sander to work, or he hid it from me. Either way, I can't get any hardcore sanding done, so I'll do whatever I can with the dremel. I'll probably just work on detailing the ODST helmet all day.
Hopefully I'll have more update pictures for you guys throughout the day.

So, I was super nervous about making those lines, and I had a difficult time with it! It wasn't until the very last line that I was really satisfied with it. I filled the worst of the lines I made with some more bondo, and did some spot work elsewhere on the helmet:

Also put on some bondo on the other helmets so that they're ready to sand when my dad decides to give me back the sander.

I am still working on what the best option would be for attaching those filters. I probably should've attached it before resin/rondo. Oh well.

Your work is coming together nicely. The bondo work is really turning out smooth. And I think you made the right decision when you adjusted the lines. They look more natural that way.

I put on a layer of prime to see where I'm at. I have a lot of fixing/sanding to do.
I keep messing up on the line at the front of the helmet. This is my 2nd mess up:

The rest of the lines look okay, though.
And I considered sanding the helmet baby-bottom smooth...but I actually like all the scuff marks on it, so I'm not going to sand everything away.

So, more smoothing and sanding...and I need to re-bondo the front and try again at the line. Third time's a charm, they say.
Also, I now have a giant angry sunburn from working on this all day. Great.

The lines turned out pretty nice, but I agree that front one still needs a little work, Hope the third try is the charm, at least your doing the lines, Im still nervous when I attempt to cut lines in the helmet, but so far great job and looks like you have the Bondo skills pretty much mastered

Goodness gracious, I'm stuck in a bit of a rut with Carter's helmet...I've lost patience for it, so I've put it aside for now and started on something else.

What's a Halo helmet collection withouth the Chief, eh?
I usually scale all the helmets to fit my tiny head, but the Chief's I left alone, so it looks humongous.

Wow,your personel helmet armory is coming along great.Yeah, ive never done the commando helmet. But I took one look at the
mouth/nose area and knew it was goning to be one of the more harder reach helmets.:/Good luck:)

Great work, are you going to mould those or just keep a smooth painted pep?

Thanks!

I don't know how to create molds...I haven't looked into it. Also, I live in an apt so I don't have the space to work with molds. BUT THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. You know, just pep once and never again for that model, hahaha.
For now, I'm just going to work with the pep and resin/bondo.

Those are looking really nice! You must have a pretty big apartment I barely have room for my one suit of armor in mine haha. Are you going to be painting them all different colors?

I don't know yet!
The question lingers in the back of my mind, but because I'm so far from painting any of these, I haven't really thought about it.

What do you guys think? Should I paint them all the same color? Or different colors?

Also, here's something else I'm working on right now:

Molding is easy, but it costs a bit. BenStreeper has great video tutorials on it.

Was hoping to rondo MC's helmet, but I didn't mix in enough of the hardening reagent to get it to cure fast enough. I was a bit wary because all my bondo was hardening SUPER fast because it was so hot, so I went on the light side with the resin and now I'm paying for it. Oh well, I'll just do him tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I finished up the ODST helmet. I'm excited because this is the most progress I've made on this thing.

Some final detailing and sanding:

Will start painting it tomorrow; I'm really nervous about it, but very excited, too.

I decided I'm going to do all the helmets in a gray/silver/black color. I thought of doing them all their individual colors, but I'm putting them up on the wall together and thought that might look a little too chaotic, so I'm going with a black/white theme. I think it'll look good. Little details/highlights I'll do in bright obnoxious colors because I love bright colors, XD

Maybe a Rookie scheme?
