Allright this is what i did for the cone
I decided to make the cone smaller than the one used in the series just because i wanted to use less material
These are the templates i used
3agezu3a.jpg

I traced the base on 1/2 inch thick foam
And the "cone" section on a 5mm thick foam, i folded the template in half and traced it 4 times (1/2, 1, 1, 1/2) on the foam in order to get a Round edge on the cone, then i put. Everything together
eraqu4a3.jpg

I then used 2 coats of wood glue on the inside to add some strength to the cone
Then did 2 coats of acrylic orange paint on the cone, lightly sanded the cone and pained it again with another voat of orange, then i added the white line and finally did some dry brushing to weather the cone a bit, after this, i was done

Next week i will be doing the shins and then i may have to buy some more foam for the boots, again, give me your opinion on wich dog tag should i do

Well, time for an update on the armor
For the boots i used the sketchers shape ups, wich add an 1.5" to your height, so when i found them on a flea market for 150 pesos (11 USD), and since i'm already pretty tall (1.80 m) i thought "perfect!"
I then freehanded the pieces for a reach boot, wich was easyer than halo 3's model

After that i painted

Now, i've been working out and dieting (not donut's oreo diet) for 2 months now so i've been loosing some weight and reduced my size, so i had to add some extra padding to the codpiece
And as much as i haye to do extra work, i'm glad i'm on the way to a spartan body
Anyway, last weekend (sept 20 & 21) i went to concomics, here are some of the pics that i've found trough facebook so far

Very cool pics, and the armor looks great. Interesting choice using Reach shoes, but they look small vs the rest of the suite in these pics. Maybe perspective, i can't be sure. Anyways, still looks awesome overall.

thank you, i would have posted more photos but i need to drag along someone with a camera with me ... something i'm planning to do on the next con i go to
also, yes, now that you pointed it out, the boots do look smaller, at least from the front since i didn't build anything there ... but trust me, the boots are huge from the back

Aaaaand, the official con photos are here
