Was the spray plastic fully cured, and not sticky to the touch
then rough up the surface with some sand paper, then
use some urethane resin to bond the fiberglass cloth to it.
cured urethane resin will not bond to a fresh mix of un-cured resin
once cured urethane resin is fully set and has that shinny smooth side
it will not stick to it self and de-laminate
I use the urethane resin with fiberglass cloth only because I cannot stand the smell of the MEK and the polyester fiberglass resin.
Its been awhile since I used the sprayed on plastic but if I remember
correctly the sprayed side has some what of a pebble like finish
did you ruff up the sprayed on plastic with sand paper first
it does not have to be ruffed up alot just a light sanding with 150 grit
blow or brush of any of the resin dust that may allow the polyester resin to stick.
The one thing I have foud out after all of these years of mold making and casting and having a chance at using most of the new materials
There is still alot of trial and error with everything but that is how we learn.
I would suggest using hydro-cal plaster for the mother mold. Its the cheepest solution and gives good strength. Plasti-paste will work but its going to be more expensive and it tends to catch allot of bubbles and air pockets.
The company name that is in the auto parts stores is Bondo.. now becareful because bondo is normally a body filler.. but they also have the resin and fiberglass mix, and the cloth...
