After I have added a few more layers I will spray him more gray / silver, like in the 1st and 3rd movie. I'm not going down the blue "Robocop 2" route.
I mat add weathering if I can not get him as smooth as I wish
Here is my 1st test of the RoboCop foam suit. What do you guys think?
I also decided to get a nice new resin replica of the Auto 9. I will take my foam gun to Comic-con as a back up weapon and also in my performance (If all works out) a extra will come onto stage wealding a gun so the foam gun will have its moment Here is a video of the resin gun 'unboxing'
I have just posted a new video showing the 'undercoated RoboCop!!
It looks like the end is in sight and my next projects can begin ( I have started a Ghostbuster Proton-Pack - to see more pop to my facebook page - Dax79Cosplay)
I hope your all still enjoying the build and thanks foe all feedback I have received during this journey
So I have two guns now... One 'stage' gun and a 'Floor' gun.
I will use my home made foam gun for my masquerade performance and a resin film prop as my floor gun, photos and walking about! Here is a pic of my, now painted, resin gun!
The full RoboCop suite gets painted this week so you will all get to see him finished soon!!
Here is the last time you will see him with his undercoat on! He will have a paint job soon and the icing on the cake is my new mannequin has arrived to stand him on!
I can not wait to go for a walk in him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New the site and thought I would check out some non-halo costumes. Gotta love seeing a Robocop! It looks fantastic, Dax. Look forward to seeing it finished
Although the costume is almost ready to paint, I have decided to make a new (Better) helmet. I found my jaw was not fitting great and looked to 'slack'. So... I watched the making of the 1987 Robocop film and noticed that the jaw was warped over Peter W's head holding it tight to him. I then made one the same
Then I looked at the old helmet, chopped off the jaw and realised that it looked a bit messy, so I garbed my old templates and cut myself a new helmet.
I decided to use a bowl and heat-gun to round the lid. Things are looking good (And I still have the old helmet too)
The new helmet is looking good. I have just painted its 1st layer of its undercoat.
I'm happy with the fitting much more now. But I decided I have a week or so of extra build time so I have began to 'bulk' out my gloves. I will add EVA foam pads to the outside and paint black like my under suit.
I have also now got a Blackout suite to wear under, filling in any gaps.
I hope people are still watching and are looking forward to the finished product!
I will trim the sides before painting black in elastomeric paint! I have also been talking to my friend who has taken my old helmet to test some car paint on it!!! Two weeks until it should be finished. YAY!
