Holy cow, i am offline due to illness for a few days and this *points to your awesomeness on the screen* is what i come back to. I LOVE IT! Great job Roxy. I have the same idea with the magnet on the thigh, i hope it works out for you. Good luck getting stuff done in time for the con, I am rooting for you!
P.S. if u need a weapon, I might be able to lend u my pistol for the con. Its not the prettiest, but I think it would work.
I'm afraid I've caused whiplash to some of you watching this thread. I wish I could say I was sorry, but I'm suffering the whip too. Serious time constraints are making me work faster and faster. I'm freaking out here. @_@ Even so, here's another update.
It fits pretty darn well for rough-estimating Vargatom did for me. XD Nicely done, sir! I'm going chop this up into paper patterns now for foam. I may or may not update again yet tonight. We'll see.
hey it looks like a good fit and a clean pep. Nice job. Also, maybe I missed this but why are you doing pep instead of foam? And as far as time constraints go I'm positive you can finish; the knees will honestly take you 10 minutes to make out of foam and the helmet won't be so bad with the amount of time you have left.--- Just make sure to order your visor soon because finding the right one might take a while (tint and sizing issues are common.)

XD ha. That's kind of you. I might take you up on that offer. But let's worry about just getting to ComiCon first.
It's somewhat of a relief after being away for 3 days to see that the shins will fit you You might need to move them up by an inch maybe, to allow your ankles to bend when you walk or try to knee.
Also, won't you need kneepads as well? And I'll also look into making a few screenshots from the helmet, the unfold is hideously complex and you'll probably need some help to find out which piece goes where. Gotta catch up with work tomorrow but we'll see about the weekend.
Although I have to say I got a bit sidetracked, after attending a combined ILM/Weta talk on Avengers VFX.
Must. Not. Think. About. Building. Mark VII Iron Man suit...
=_= oi... I need to stop updating in the middle of the night.
Shins. Well.. one of them. The other is in the corner. I was too lazy to put them both on. The form is finished, but the details are not. Finishing touches well be done tomorrow! I thought I'd emphasize that since a some neglect to read before asking questions or making suggestions. (Don't worry, I'm guilty of that sometimes too.) Last couple touches of craft foam and then these will be painted tomorrow.
Remember to wish your mom (or wife?) a happy Mother's Day. ^_^
Transfered the front portion of the pep onto paper, and stenciled it onto the foam. Lots of edits and freehanding was done during this whole process though. The pep I had made earlier was used mostly for sizing and as a reference.
Foam shin. 90% Foamed. Still missing some minor details.
Shin looking good
And i like when you update in the middle of the night, its the only time im awake lol. Anywho, the sizing and everything looks like its gonna rock, so keep up the great work
I hope you don't mind if I copy your boot idea to give more height. I'm already 6'3 but a few more inches could make me look more Spartan like. By the way the armor is looking AWESOME can't wait to see it finished!!
