Just to let you guys know.

Grunts are 5 feet tall, in a previous post, he said that he was a little over 5 feet tall. The only reason Grunts appear so small is because Master Chief is 7' 2" making him very tall compared to grunts. Also if you look at marines and grunts together, they will sometimes appear to be similar in height.

So this costume is very very accurate, all you need is a few fake methane lines and a baldish head :p

Yay I love grunts! (I hate how they are ugly in halo 3  ) The costume is great, can't wait 'till it's done! I was planning on makin a grunt costume for my little brother and now that I see yours I want to make it even more. :)

Thanks for the support everyone I was planning on goin and getting the resin fiberglass w/e stuff but my i got a call from some girls soo ... :p didnt quite get to it and im goin paintballin 2morrow and with my girl again sooooooooooooo the schoolweek will be the time but pics will be up!

BTW this passage was taken from the Halopedia website which is very detailed and accurate

"Grunts are approximately 5 feet tall and are relatively weak when compared to other Covenant species, although they can easily walk either upright on two legs, or on all fours. While carrying arms, they are forced to walk upright so that they may support their weapons with their hands, but while trying to flee, or while patrolling without a weapon drawn, they will use their over sized arms as forelegs to add speed or stability to their gait.
Grunts' forearms are incredibly oversized, as are their calves, while their upper arms and thighs are incredibly minute. The only way for them to even be able to move like this is if their biceps and triceps are in their forearms and calves, although why they would evolve like this is unknown. This may, however, have to do with the claws that protrude from some of their joints, as the extra mass would add to the force used when melee-ing with the claws.
Grunts have hooves on their three-toed feet, and their skin is leathery and purple-gray. They have a single claw that protrudes from each elbow and knee, but its function is unknown, since there are no known instances where it was used in combat."

Im about 5' 4" to 5' 6" i havnt checked in a while so its actually accurate somewhat

That looks like Eternal's avatar...

Anyways, excellent work. I'd like to ask how you did this, just cardboard? Makes me want one!

I would definetly recommend latex.

I would definetly recommend latex.

Its made of Cardboard, Hot Glue, and (White & Black)Duct Tape And I'm fiberglassing it this week i went out and got the materials today
Update: I added some cosmetic details to the armor to make it more realistic i am also planning on installing LEDs into it in the pattern as they were in halo 2

GruntMajor01A.jpg

Like this

Im also thinking about installing a removable camelback into the mask which can be taken in and out of the methane tank

I did a little bit of research and found that ill buy 2 cans of liquid latex (white and black) they dont offer grey  anyways they're not that expensive

So Heres my plan ....
Im gonna make the oversized arms and legs of the grunt and other slightly different body cosmetics. BUT! I am not making a Grunt Suit, what I will do is when i decide to wear the stuff and go totally all out I'll spray myself and the oversized limbs etc. with the liquid latex Voila instant Grunt! (y)

So it was a beautiful day today on Thanksgiving and i resined the entire armor ... now i totally reek of Resin ... lets hope the smell of baking turkey and apple pie overpower it by dinnertime ...

So now you can paint it and post pix of how amazing it looks. What's your next project gonna be?

Well i want to make the grunt suit and mask for under the armor but i might put that off ....

However as u can see in the signature... Ive got some ideas but im gonna go into the Bioshock Big Daddy Bouncer suit .... and i plan to go all out with this thing like ...
i was thinking about having a motor so that the drill can spin and keep a battery in one of the containers on the back ... im also going to have lights inside the helmet so that i can make it light up red/yellow

the only problem is im haaving a hugely hard time finding a dome to use for the helmet and ive almost resorted to custom ordering a plastic one for like $45 :cautious:
