whose started it yet? , because ive already started printing :pthis is so cool thanks rundown you've done it again

my scale is 27.5cm or 275mm ill keep you guys updated on how it goes

Hey chaps,

noob question.

are you guys scaleing based on Height or Depth?

Rundowns standard is H300 W291 D338

If I auto scale down by 10% brings it to H272 W264 D307

I am assuming H is actually the length and it would make it 27cm or 272mm

am I correct? or way off?

I'm 5'11 and with an average head size i suppose ;) but still have trouble with this scaleing.

H = Height of the helmet

W = Width of the helmet

D = Depth of the helmet (length from front to back)

And I would really like some help resizing the flaps >_>

Thanks for the clarification

Change flaps like so :)

Ctrl+f

tick "Change shape"

Change Value (I changed mine to 4)

However if you leave it as 5 and click apply to all flaps it will tidy them up for you :)

I think 30 should be alright. I am 6'0 tall, and normally have to scale my helms around 29cm. Remember there is the section on the front of the helm at the top that is a little taller than the crown of the helm, so the model is a little taller than normal. For me I am sticking with 30 and seeing how it turns out. I just unfolded the one without the addition, but don't have a key so I can't save. I got the helm down to 13 pages. As far as editing the tabs, you should be able to right click, select edit tabs, and then select all the tabs. If that doesn't work, check out MrOreo123s tutorial.

Edit: Okay, so I just pulled up Rundown's unfold, and all you have to do is right click, select edit flaps, then click change shape, and the defaults should be 5mm, leave that and click on apply to all flaps and VOILA!

Brandon, does that mean your leaving it as default?

just trying to gauge what others around my height are doing before I go to print.

thanks in advance

Alright, so I apologize for the double post, but I bought the Pep key, so here is my first attempt at an unfold of the helm without the addition. Let me know what you think, advice on improvements etc. Rundown, looks like a great file, hope to get this together soon!!!!

Unfold: [(2) reachwithout1.pdo

Hope the link works, let me know if it doesn't...

EDIT: Password for this one is streetrocks. It is in letter format.

EDIT 2: Updated the unfold a bit, this one is a lot smoother. This is the one I will be building. Should save some hassle. Sorry to those who have already printed off the other one. Still learning Pep, this is my first unfold.

ReachWOutSmoother.pdo

EDIT 3: Here are the chest and ab plate unfolds:

Chest: http://www.4shared.com/file/181277657/33adfca4/ReachChestSmooth.html

Ab Plate: http://www.4shared.com/file/176772210/b538497c/ReachAbPlate.html

see i scale old school style : with a tape measure

i get a rough height of my head for example 23 cm approx (not sure it is now) and then i add a few cm on top of that so 27cm is fine (well should be) because i plan on adding electronics to this before the debut of the game

oh and also if anyone wishes for me do upload my unfolded version of the helmet with the piece not attached (its till there just separate) if thats ok with you rundown

see Brandon McClain i am 6'2 and i find that 30 cm will not look correct so you might have to go old school for this but then again i may be wrong and have to try again i dont know but im about half done cutting all the pieces out so once its completed ill post some pictures if that cool with you rundown

as well as the flaps they should be fine as they are

*** are you guys using the letter version or the a4 version because that might be your confusion***as far as i know im using the letter one

Asking me for password in Pep 3, guess I'll have to Download viewer.

EDIT: installed Viewer.

Brandon that is awesome.

You and Rundown make a great team great work both of you.

A4 for me.

But both files have same dimensions, I though the main difference was the paper size and border between A4 and Letter? so the core parts would be exactly the same, wouldnt they?

They should be. I can do an A4 unfold, for the most part you should just be able to click and drag the page groups and center them on A4. Good luck, hope you like it!

Paper size has nothing to do with it besides how many parts you can fit on the page (as A4 is a bigger sheet). Same size of pieces and such.

No need buddy :)

thanks for the offer :)

Just took your file and changed to A4 and moved and rotated parts to fit on A4 pages.

format slighly different and a few extra pages because of overlaps but looks all good ;)

Edit:

Rundowns model "without", Unfolded by Brandon McClain converted to A4 here

now all we need is the other 5 custom helmets and armor perms. well and the base armor, such as the legs arms and torso

nice unfolds....for the chest and back you can use the mark V parts as a base then build off of that

Everyone but Jorge, his armor is entirely different from everyone else.

Cheers,

Rundown, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

I can't wait what other Reach pieces you're going to have up to download.

I agree with Link. It will save you time...unless you're up for the challenge.
