Hi guys,

My name is Lukas, I am 23 and from Vienna/Austria.

I started my first MC build about 6 months ago. First I tried the foam method and sealed the foam with resin, but I like accuracy. And I have a 3D printer to call my own. So i also printed some of the parts of my actual armor. Unfortunately I messed up the scaling (I believe the Chest piece is ways too small and I took the wrong "between legs piece" ).

Now after my first foam/3dprint armor is finished, I want to build a complete 3d printed armor. But the problem is, that i simply cant find halo 4 hd files. If I print the normal pep files, the polygons and lines etc. are still noticeable and are in need of massive sanding.

If I could find as accurate as possible 3d models, I could provide the ready to print files (I would add thickness, orient them and cut them into max 200x200x200mm pieces) which only need to be glued toghether. After hours of searching I have only found pep ready models. Does anyone of you know where I can find really detailed parts?

At the armor in the picture, I have printed the forearms, half of the helmet and both shins.

Also can you give me feedback, what does not fit. I want to get a lot better for the next armor.

Here are the printed forarms from kingrahl

The Helmet (brainbucket by kingrahl) directly after printing (the upper half is made with EVA)

and after painting:

Hi,

I was not quity happy with the scaling of my armor,so i made a 3d body scan with a inect and now i am trying to do a scaling directly i my 3D modeling program.

Here are the first results:

Maybe it is a bit to large, but if I make it smaller, the belly part is ways too small. Do you guys have any suggestions for the scaling?

You'd be far better removing all the black under-armour and simply working from the 'hard' green bits. It'll be much easier to scale to yourself that way - plus, you're going to need to move the pieces about somewhat as it is. The Master Chief's bodily proportions are closer to that of a very tall dwarf (large chest in proportion to the body), so scaling the armour as one piece won't work too well.

Hate to say it but the issue is with your body here. The spartan torso used for all armor has some quite athletic proportions and without some broad shoulders and strong arms, the armor is just not going to look as good on you as it does in the game.

One thing however is that there is a certain level of stylization to the spartans, the torso/legs ratio is skewed a bit. Their torso is shorter and the legs are longer than the average human's. So if you scale it to your own torso, the armor pieces will get a bit larger than what they should be.

It also seems to me that you're using the fan made pep files, but they aren't accurate enough. The ingame model has already been ripped and maybe you should get hold of it too to check scaling... and adjust the pep files a bit...
