Well I did it. I reinforced the Gungnir helmet using the 1/2 Gluestick I had left, and all it needs now is resin, and some little bits here and there. I will get to those later.

Anyway, heres before and after shots of the reinforcements:

I also reinforced the chin but I didnt take a pic of that as my camera battery is empty now.
Heres some of the spots that still need some cardboard:

This side detail needs to be scratchbuilt, but I am out of glue,
and the 4 vents need some slats (I make mine out of coffee stirrers) but I need glue for that too,
below is the front left vent:

I also need to fill in the sides in the cover, between the front and the very back.

Sick, the inside edges are very clean... Are you going to put any foam inside? The coffee stirrer idea is very good. glad there is enough room for the electronics, you will need to alot for cardboard removal during camera installation, i would definately wait for resin to drill though.. Greatness, keep those updates comin sir!
(oh and check out my elite-pony massacre wip lol)

Lolz that whole thead is absurd, and its one of the most popular. Anyway yeah im not cutting the visor hole until this thing is fiberglassed.

I just found my EVA/C helmet, gave it a good sanding, and a fresh coat of silver for the front after scratching it up a bit ( all the previous scratches got buffed out) and I mixed up some of my desert tan camo, but it might have to wait until tomorrow as I somehow injured myself with a bread knife while making a sandwich.

This will sound kinda dumb, but i tried to pick my nose and I poked myself in the eye. Now I have a small cut on my eyelid, and it keeps getting blood in my eye, so I think ill wait for that to close up.

What a story this would have been to tell the grand kids.
Kid; Grandda, how did you lose your eye?
Toac; Well, I was holding a bread knife and I tried to pick my nose...
:p

My eyelid also healed remarkably fast, although still a bit pink and sensitive, to the point where blinking can tear it,
Anyway I put in the bolts that will hold the cover onto the helmet as seem below:

Also I got the "bubble", "lightbulb", "fishbowl", or whatever you want to call it painted on my EVA/C i found:

Now all it needs is a tan coat, and a black coat on the back, and some detail work, like the stripes,
but it does have a pretty good view. I think its because my eyes are so close to the visor, as I can barely see the piece in the middle, were talkin, id go crosseyed trying to see it, so I have a great view, Now it just needs the acetate visor:

In this pic the camera was sticking under the bottom of the helmet at the very back, because it had to be far away to get the whole view. Anyway, I might give this bad boy a how to thread for the noobs. They'll love it!

EDIT: I think the hardest part will be getting the one way acetate visor to match the faux visor around it.

I resin'd it yesterday, and I was gonna fiberglass it today, but its raining hard....

I might sill get it done if it lets up.

I finally fiberglassed the cover of the helmet, and I am about to do the base, but while re-punching a hole the scissors broke, leaving a big nasty hole in my finger, and its bone deep. Good thing I barely have feeling in my extremities :D

Also, I found the file here, http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/29538-3D-Gungnir-lid

Also I dont have pics because my computer seems to freeze up when I try to upload pics onto photobucket, but it might be less laggy tomorrow, so I could have pics by then.

Just came across this thread, and everything's looking great so far! As for the EVA [C], niceeeeeeee. A tut on that would be great if/when you're up to it

I will start a thread literally right when I get some niteshades window tint, and then I will go to my photobucket, and get every progress pic.

hey toacrabman, the link is dead, coz nintendude took down all his 3d models and unfolds. youll need to put it in your 4 shared.

way cool! i love gungnir! but the pep fiel has alwase made me skiddish on it. its my fav helmet, adn i know how to see out of it with both eyes. you can use your phone or ipod, ect. through the lens thingy and look with that, problem is that it will feel weird.

Just went ahead and fiberglassed the base, so now all i need is more installation of fittings, and some padding, then I will get to the camera systems and whatnot.

I got pictures cuz i fixed my computer.

Here it is fiberglassed with the fittings:

and the cover before the duct tape:

Heres the magnum, (i covered the gaps with cardstock to eliminate the rows of holes from the cardboard)

Heres a look at the inside ( i covered the stray fiberglass strands with duct tape, the tool that fixes everything.

and this was just funneh:
