Hey guys, what's up?

I've been seeing these ads about "flex seal". It is supposed to be liquid rubber that you spray like paint and it dries after a couple of hours. My dad bought it for our roof b/c of leakage. But it gave me an idea. Maybe people who build with foam could use this to seal the creases instead of hot glue. Just an idea. Tell me what you think. Thanks.

P.S. the guy in the Flex Seal commercial sucks compared to Billy Mays...

agreed... but anyway i like were you are going with this... i have been secretly trying out some foam stuff. and this could also be a way to be able to fiberglass or harden the foam without melting it. just an add-on suggestion

Someone has posted about it before but I am not sure anyone has actually tried it. If I recall, it is kind of expensive for the amount you get. I think any of those roof coatings would probably work fine with foam. Though a lot of them are made with really toxic solvents because they are being applied in guaranteed open air environments(it is a roof!) Using them indoors is probably not that great an idea.

That being said, Ames Research Labs makes low-toxic, water clean up roof sealants that they are selling through Ace Hardware. Someone at the RPF posted about these and they look really interesting. Maximum Stretch and Super Elasto-Barrier look particularly good for it.
