haha i hightly doubt that ill be building it once im finished modeling it
yeah ill send you a pm about a test build for the helm before i release it

Does any remember the book description of the spi armor?

EDIT: but ill get back at the helm soon ive been swamped by a java project
I have some excepts from Ghosts of onyx I hope these help.

Page 141.
Within was a matte gray set of semi-powered infiltration armor. He removed his boots and pulled on the PR leggings.

Pg 164
Two figures emerged from the jungle. Humanoid. Covenant? They were shrouded in active camouflage. Their textures adjusted, and they looked like they were part leaf, part shadow. She'd seen Orbital Drop Shock Troopers experiment with this technology... But they'd never gotten it to work in the field.

PG 170
The armor was a hybrid between the MJOLNIR and something older... like legionnaire armor, but it was difficult to tell precise geometry as the light seemed to slide off its edges.

Art of halo 3:
i think you should ask somebody who has the book too scan a better quality
I agree but the problem is the Image is only 3 1/2" tall in the book. So no matter what resolution it is scanned at it will look pixilated. Maybe a better option is to get someone on the sight with Photoshop skills to clean up and enhance this image.

Well then ill keep posting updates then.

With all the research ive noticed there two or 3 different versions of the helm. So should i go with the art of halo 3 or to the ghost of onyx?

EDIT: Just a small up date but it noticeable. Almost ready for a test build

nice, i prefer the new version that you have built.
Also remember there is more than one SPI armor variant (MKI/MKII).

how long will we have to wait for a test build/how much is left to do??

I think one of the two images in my example (see above) is the MKI and one is the MKII
Maybe somebody with ghost of onyx can look where the Spartan-III on the cover is, which date that is and then they can look if they used the MKI or MKII

Okay! So on the front cover there is three characters.
From front to back:

MK V MJOLNIR - Kelly - She didn't get the upgrade, because she was abducted by Dr. Hasley
Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor MK II - Kurt or another SPARTAN III
MK VI MJOLNIR - Fred, Will. Not linda because she would be carrying a her SRS99C-S2 AM Sniper Rifle

I believe (correct me if im wrong) this is the part in the book when the SPARTAN IIs meet up with Saber Team and Kurt - so after chapter 28 onward.
The date and Time in Chapter Twenty Eight: 1700 hours, November 3, 2552

But earlier on in the book (Chapter Nine) Tom, Lucy, Min and Adam are doing a field exercise
The Date and time in Chapter Nine: 1620 hours, August 24, 2541

Quote from chapter Nine:
"When they'd come to the open field he'd checked the perimeter. No one had been there. He'd waited, though, and checked and rechecked. DI's in their Mark-II Semi-Powered Infiltration armor where hard to spot even with thermal imagers in his field binoculars."

So in conclusion, The SPI armor on the front is indeed the MK-II variant.
But what does that make the 'Art of Halo 3' version then? Mk-I?

hoped that helped.

That sketch up file isnt that good..

But i think the one in the art of halo 3 is Mark I
Maybe you need to mix and match some parts of the armor

The picture with Kurt-051 with the elite is Mark II.

-You can see it on the chest
- You can see it on the knees

I suggest making the Mark I first
Because it has better images and after that work on the Mark II

I was going to finish the Mk-2 then rework it to make it work with the MK-1
