Ya, i think usually u should wear a mask when handling with "stuff". That is of course if you wana get high off it or something.

Some girl in my school got high off sniffing sharpies for the entire day.

Or unless you want roasted lungs, diseases, or a combination of both with the chance of death.

;D Just might throw that in there (not applying to this but to most chemicals).

I have an idea, why don't you read the directions, and follow the safety recommendations listed there???

Fiberglass and resin won't kill you ... or roast your lungs unless you're a total idiot and ignore all the safety warnings.

I just wanted to get that out there, I'm a little concerned that smilies 'snot' thread got people paranoid about working with fiberglass and resin. It's safe to work with if you follow the instructions and safety recommendations.

HEheh. 'Snot Thread'

oh god, gunpowder too. I got it in my nose and was blowing burning red snot out my nose for a week. THE SMELL TOO :eek .

back on topic... are you actually going to fiberglass it? I was also thinking that you might want to try paper machet too... just a thought

I've been talking with my dad, he was saying that paper mache is a hell of a lot easier to work with since you can shape it to the form you want easily, as with fiberglass you have to work really hard to bend it around a corner.

OH! something completely cooler i just thought of that I've never seen mentioned before on these forums. I was thinking of art class and remembered this paper mache like stuff only it was thin cloth-like sheets of plaster that you soak in water to activate. It's called plaster gauze or plaster cloth, google either one, it's the same thing. But I definitely think you should use this.

I still have to do the detail paint job. Patch up the paint here and there. and paint in the details and lights and stuff. And put in the warning sign on the side.

theres no point if your going to fiberglass it youl have to re-paint it
